Here's the quote from Bama DB Landon Collins

"It was a different quarterback than we were expecting. We had to adjust our calls and then expected more runs."

And Dobbs still had big runs in the 2nd half.

So Collins is trying to tell us all that both UT and BAMA fans expected to see Dobbs but he didn't? We fans must be amazing to have that info. ahead of Kirby Smart and Saban. You'd think one of the Bama fans that knew would've told them. :eek:lol:

If Butch wants to go to Michigan let him. Otherwise he's setting you up for the contract drain that comes from faux interest. He's done 90% of the hard work so the job is definately more attractive now.

Agreed. I think it was Finebaum the other day that said something along the lines of "Why would he go to that situation in Michigan when he's about to pull back to back top 5 classes at Tennessee and not even have the chance to coach them yet?"

Feldman also said that, who I give a lot more credibility to.

Is it that they didn't expect Dobbs to run as much as he did?

Worley was hurt enough last week to merit pulling off Dobbs's redshirt. I can't believe he'll be healed enough to put in a full enough week of practice to solidify the start.

If Butch did go to Michigan it would have to be for huge guarantees and if that were true their AD went full retard. Sometimes coaches fit but the timing doesn't. For once we may be on the lucky side of that equation. I'd argue we were with Kiffin also until we got Dooley.

This is not a stepping stone program... Strong interest??? If Butch abandoned us for Michigan, then Cutcliffe is my pick..

You don't have to tell us. Everyone around here knows coaches are idiots--even the best ones.

Michigan already had Rich Rod and fired him. CBJ learned under RichRod, they aren't going back to that well again.

No way he's one of the first guys contacted about that job.

What will Michigan's reasoning be if he's hired? He can recruit well & he's from Michigan? Naw don't see it. They'll want a proven winner.

Hopefully the FF doesn't get wind of any CBJ to mich rumors... They have been meltdown free since last Saturday night - possibly their longest streak of the season.

I think Worley is not very good, especially in this system and in this situation of not being 100%. I want to build for the future and give Dobbs some quality starts and momentum into next year. If he starts Worley given everything that's happening then that is truly dare I say it ... a Dooleyesque moment.

"HOLY MACKRELL...he was so fast! We chase him and chase him and he won't fall down! I yelled at him 'Hey!...fool...stop this here running round nonsense!'...he didn't even raise his eyebrows."

And Dobbs still had big runs in the 2nd half.

Good info.

The big thing is, what if their top options decline? They'll throw the house at Butch. Still don't think it will happen but it's not farfetched

You let Dobbs play. You have to have a QB with experience next year if you wanna make the leap we are all hoping to make. I have always believed in Dobbs even after last year and thought that they shoulda played him second all year. I don't think a redshirt for Dobbs does much for the future of this program. Josh is an ok to good QB, but lets be honest, we can do better. The coaches have 2 4* QBs committed for 2015 and 1 4* committed for 2015. If the coaches are so worried about 3 years down the road at the QB position that they are willing to give up wins and maybe bowl eligibility this year then that tells me that they don't believe they can land or have landed an elite QB in these next couple years.

I believe in Butch as much as the next guy, but I believe you have to play Dobbs for the rest of this year to give him ample experience and control of the offense so we can make the jump we are all hoping for next year and in the future.

I believe you need to stick with Dobbs for the rest of the year for the sole fact that, if you burned his redshirt for one game then put him back on the bench, you look like an idiot.

Jones is playing the QB situation perfectly.

He know Dobbs will start. But he wants teams to split preparation and not just focus on Dobbs.

Dobbs is still a bit of an unknown and with more game tape he will be easier to game plan against.

Dobbs will start but you won't hear CBJ confirm it any time soon.

IF IF IF IF Butch goes to Michigan, we need to immediately call Rich Rod and hire him. At least that would give us a modicum of the continuity that we need from a system stand point. Plus he is a hell of a coach.

All that said, I really hope Butch decides that this is where he wants to be. I don't begrudge a program like Michigan wanting to reach out to him, because he's a great coach. But I've spent more time than I want to in Michigan, and Michigan is no Tennessee.

That's what I've been thinking as well. It's just so hard to determine & really know what Jones is saying with all his coach speak :)
