Dobbs worked with the 1s today!

Just heard on the Radio that Josh Dobbs got extensive work with the 1st team today. Wonder what CBJ has up his sleeve....hmmmmmmm

A hurt Worley and incompetent Peterman is what he has up his sleeve. No reason to redshirt Dobbs he has already been recruited over and would be the best bet early next year. Really unfair to judge him for last year (true freshman w/o spring practice)he was 3 deep on the chart and got thrown in because Ferguson was hurt. He looked pretty good in spring game! Go Vols!

Now try answering my question. The excuses and deflections are endless.

Why do you judge a four-star QB so harshly with less than 3 quarters total playing time playing Floriduh with a broken finger?

Why should your superficial impressions of a few minutes play be elevated above the expert talent scouts and coaches - who saw a large body of work?

How do you know Peterman panics?
Do you really believe inexperienced players having nerves to be abnormal?

How does he know Peterman panics, really???? Good kid,no hate!!! Watch the only live action he has faced and ask your question again...

that's a tell tale sign about what the coached think of Peterman if he is passed over for Dobbs if Worley is dinged up enough that the coaches think it might be necessary to use someone else.

I asked if they wanted to know and even gave a hint how it went. Now I'm not telling them a dang thing. They can figure it out by themselves.

OK, well don't tell them, but tell me? PLEEEEEEEASE??:mf_surrender::bow2:

Just one little nugget of info in this thread drowning in foam-at-the-mouth opinions would be so welcome...

Good grief, back and forth. The Peterman/Dobbs debate will not be settled until next year.

Nobody on this board, regardless of what you have seen, can make any logical determination on who is gong to start next year. The best you can say is I think so and so will start.

Nobody knows how both are going to progress during the offseason. Peterman could absolutely tear it up and clearly win the starting job. Then again he could regress and be worse. Same scenarios could be for Dobbs. If anyone thinks that these scenarios CANNOT happen, then you're foolish beyond belief.

You guys still at it? Good Lord, you do know that Worley is practicing and by all indications (that I have read ie. vols247 etc) is going to play on Saturday?

In my opinion, THIS is flawed logic. I do agree that our O-line is atrocious, but to say our season is blown? That just doesn't make sense to me. Our goal this year was not a NC or even an SEC title, it was to get to 6-6 and a bowl game. We need to show some promise and that we are progressing to our fans, our recruits, and to the rest of college football to show we are becoming legitimate again. For us to take a "pack it up and go home" approach is very disheartening. I am NOT a Cubs fan, I don't hang my hat on next season. We are still very much alive THIS season and whatever moves we can make to get us bowling need to be made.

I'm saying the season is blown in terms of us actually getting to a bowl game. Even if you put Dobbs in it's not going to make a difference with this Oline. All it is going to do is burn a redshirt for no reason, and put Dobbs in danger.

I haven't checked the spread
today...has it moved from 17 to 40? If so, Worley is playing alright.

Lws said both Worley and Peterman were banged up at ole miss, they are preparing Dobbs just in case. But from everything I've gathered Worley may be worse off than originally thought.

Do you really think that the QB position is the problem???

The O line give about 1.5 seconds of protection on passing plays, there is no QB that can stand in that pocket while a WR's route progress's.

Secondly, we have zero running game, the Ole Miss game we were held to ZERO yards rushing. The problem is not the QB.... it's not the RB.... it's the O - Line, just understand Dobb's is not going to play, save him for next year with a much better O-line. Chalk this season up as a learning curve for those that will be here to build with next years class and hope for the best next year.....

Nope. Nate is a great kid. But he panicked against UGA this year too. When things start going bad... he loses it. No hate... just a simple, direct observation of what has happened both times he's been in a competitive, real game situation.

Source? Those with apparent ties into the program at the time suggested that Worley won the position by a wide margin. Reporters who were told they could not report on the competition as it was going on suggested the same thing after the announcement (Hubbs for one).

And NONE of what you said changes the fact that in two appearances in real action... NP has panicked under pressure.

None of us made it up. It has come from people close to the program that they want to RS Dobbs. Maybe Jones told you different when he came to your house for dinner last night... but somehow I doubt it.

Empty claims and denial is cheap. You have offered no basis for your claim. In fact, there is none.

Referring to "People close to the program' is pure BS - and you know it.

I studied a couple hours of passing drills summer training camp videos. I also read the endless commentaries that consistently speak about Peterman's solid performances vs the poor performances of Dobbs and varied performance of Worley. You could too.

Are you seriously denying that Peterman beat Dobbs in the Summer competition to take the #2 spot?

Explain how you know that Peterman panics?
Upon how much playing time are you basing your assessment?
How much playing time does a 4 star QB deserve before a reasonable person can gauge their potential?

Just more questions to dodge.

@Vol_Football: JONES: It’s on-going. We will have to make a decision about Justin’s (Worley) status later in the week. All of our QBs get equal reps.
