Thanks alot Phil and Erik

Ainge suffered from an inability to throw a deep pass for a completion most of his career. The past two seasons we've never really been able to spread the field with longer passes. At this point I can't tell if it's coaching, poor receivers, Ainge himself, or some combination of all three. Just feels like the play action doesn't work any more because people just stuff the box to kill the run, and then hang back in zone to kill our short passes.
Thats a great assumption, makes since too me. I would love for us to get a doulble threat QB. Crompton????

When should be...win
Won should be...one

Besides your ignorant errors....
Fulmer didn't make Tennessee football what it is today... Bowden and JoePa did....You can't fire legends and Fulmer is no legend

First off, my bad on the errors.. Beer = spelling errors..

Secondly, yes Fulmer did. What did UT football do in the 70's and 80's. Cotton Bowl at best. Now a Cotton Bowl birth is called a bad season. Before Fulmer if you mentioned UT and National Champioship in the same sentence you would be laughed out of any sports conversation. So dont tell me he didnt bring us to the national spotlight. If you really believe that then do some homework.

Exactly how many have they won??? Oh yea, and Fulmer, he brought a very mediocre team to the national spotlight. Fulmer should be a legend in the state of Tennessee, but for some reason we think a state with zero football talent should never lose a game. Without Phil, we are unimportant in college football. He goes and gets kids from Cali to NJ. But yea, your right fire the fat guy.

UT spends more money than almost anyone in the nation on its football program. We shouldn't have trouble recruiting.

Cotton Bowl bid was Fulmer's reward for his second best season this decade.

Tennessee is no better now (meaning now not 1998) than they were under Majors and UT will be important with or without Phil because they have the fans, money, and facilities to be important.

that's great, when you can't win the football argument you fall back on savant idiot nane calling techniques....and i expected so much more from you, boobie.
which argument did you win? I can't imagine you winning any argument on any subject against any living, breathing human, period.

By the by, do have any idea what a savant is? If so, then you know you completely puked all over yourself in trying to use it here. Stick to your strengths please. You know, stuff like welding sh1t to your trailer.

UT had 5 titles when Fulmer arrived. Penn State and FSU were irrelevant when their current coaches were hired. That is why those two are legends.

5 titles of what? We had one National Championship before Fulmer. Gen. Neylands team. If you say SEC titles, there is a big difference between now and then in the SEC.

Maybe legends to their programs, but I'm simply pointing out their success in the hunt for national titles given a much greater period of coaching time hasn't been too much better than Phil's. I give them both credit for building up the programs from the ground, but it wasn't like we were pumping out national titles before Phil took over in the 90's. I'm not so much defending Fulmer as I am pointing out that those programs aren't exactly sitting pretty either. I'm not sure why, but I'd rather have Phil than either Bobby or Joe at this point (even with our loss to Penn State last year). Although the truth is closer to the fact that all three either need to innovate with new coaches, or face dealing with the game continuing to pass them by.

look, i'm mot trying to insult anyone. all i'm trying to say is that the team played more than well enough to win, and ainge had to turn in this performance and give the game away. it was totally unneccessary.

UT claims six National Championships. General Neyland had more than one team go undefeated. He had more than one team go without allowing a TD.

They are important because of 98 and the 90's. The money is there because of those teams.

find out who can play??????????
he has sucked all season...are you blind????? is this stevie wonder i'm talking to?
you stupid F*********, you're implying that he owes the team more than the best he can do. Nobody can give that. I know this is tough for you because you meet all of the real qualifications for being labeled an idiot, but please try your hardest to comprehend. You OWE us that.

I guess beating Miami in January of '86 in the Sugar Bowl doesn't count as national Spotlight?

his playing poorly doesn't warrant the reaction that you gave him. That was the point.

according the AP we have 2 NC's. Thats what matters. I dont like it but thats what matters. And there is a big diff between then and now.

think what yall want. Fulmer is the best thing to happen to UT football since Neyland and firing him would be a crime. He has built the fans up to expect a Championship every year. Without fulmer we wouldnt be at that level today. Carroll has only won 1 NC with a RIDICULOUS amount of talent, and he is in the PAC 10. Its SEC football.

carroll has be relevant to the NC discussion every year. We have had considerable talent and haven't even be relevant to the SECe discussion some of these last 9 seasons.

Carroll has 2 NC's ('03 and '04) plus he went to another one. I guess we could hang on to Fulmer as you say and watch UT turn into the new Penn St. and watch him wet his pants like Peterno and we could be proud of the Outback Bowls. We could also be like FSU and watch Fulmer stand on the sidelines as the OC and DC call all the plays and let Fulmer be the face of UT with no responsibilities other than recruiting and pretending to coach as Bowden does.

He is in the Pac 10. And yes we have been. We obviously were this year. 04 we were. 01 we were. I forget. UT fans want it every year. I tell u what lets just fire Phil and see what happens. Lets see if the next guy can recruit outside the state. Do yall not realize, there is no talent here and he still gets talent. If he was in Cali or Fl he would get ridiculous talent.

In a six team division in which three of them are annually pretty crappy, UT should always be relevant.
