3 / 9 making it to the game with nothing to show is effectively irrelevant IMO. Arky has basically done that, on dramatically less talent.

he's not the only guy shackled with a low numbers of blue chippers in state. many coaches recruit nationally and do just fine. Fulmer clearly doesn't have a monopoly there. In fact, if you believe Fulmer is still the reason players are coming, you have no sense.

Official NCAA records recognize multiple polls...not just the AP and the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll...and the UPI before that. Tennessee had considerable football tradition before Fulmer even first set foot on campus back in the '60's. Fla St. and Penn St. had none when Bowden and Joe Pa arrived. That is why they are legends. Fulmer's coaching contributions are just a small part of Tennessee's rich football history.

who cares. I expect us to win SECCG more than once every 10 years. OBTW, given that next year appears to have us as the 3rd best team in the East, we're very likely to stretch this drought to 10 years. That's a long way from the picture you're painting.

Glad to have you aboard. I would like to see what happens myself. The talent is attracted to the stadium and facilities not just Fulmer. It's not like he has that magic smile or charm that gets em everytime. Besides, Trooper Taylor has helped Fulmer look good recruiting too. It's not just him landing these guys. How many of them fail to qualify also?

Troopers been there since when?? And Fulmer cant take the tests for them

Could that possibly be a reason other schools don't offer? What's the point of a top 5 class when half the guys go to JUCO because they don't make the grade. Fulmer and staff are well aware of the student athlete they're offering to.

Yeah, but if they don't qualify then they are a wasted player. Next year will really be the defining year for Fulmer if you ask me. He gets Alabama and UF at home, and he needs to prove he can beat Urban Meyer and Tebow. We'll have everything in place next year, the only ingredient missing is the QB, but if you ask me Erik had his shot and now it's time to move on any way. The next QB, be it Crompton, Coleman, Stephens, or some recruit could not do any worse.

Maybe in your mind, there wasn't a National Championship game like there is now. Go tell Carroll he doesn't have but 1 National Championship and I'm sure if Tennessee won one that way you would be more than proud to claim it, I would.
