Thanks alot Phil and Erik

I do have to say though that as weak as this is, it's infinitely more entertaining than another thread throwing Ainge under the bus.

If he tried to throw himself under the bus he'd probably miss and hit the train. :)

Sorry, I saw an opening and had to take it.

look, i'm gonna go get another jack and be back, it will give you guys time to think of something intelligent to say for a change.

I'm well aware it's #4, if you read the post I used the word "typical" which might indicate that it could be an example or a reference to other seasons besides this one. There are plenty of teams that have been better than Tennessee since '98.

OK. So from now on if we dont when the National Championship just fire the coach and bring in someone else. Makes sense to me! You people are so lost. You dont see FSU calling for Bowdens head or PSU calling for JoePa's head. Bowden has won only won National Championship since us. and JoePa, none. We have a VERY SUCCESSFUL PROGRAM!!!!!!!!!!

I'm really shocked at the 'near hatred' level of the comments. I would understand if he were the type to slack, waste his talent and underachieve (ie James Banks), but that's not the case at all. When you get idiots like 1956 here acting as if he did something on purpose, it's hard to understand how they make it through even the most mundane of tasks. The kid tried and didn't get it done. He appears not to have the makeup of that type that makes the plays when necessary. Hopefully, he'll grow into that. I imagine he would give anything to have those back and make the right plays for UT and its fans, but this invalid immediately wants to disown him. I'm hard on Fulmer, but we're paying him and can demand better. Ainge, he's playing to win and make an impression for the next level. Beating him up is just stupid.

People have wanted both Bowden and JoePa gone for years. The difference is those guys are legends that built their programs and won multiple National Championships. They've also both won their conferences and been to BCS bowls recently.

When should be...win
Won should be...one

Besides your ignorant errors....
Fulmer didn't make Tennessee football what it is today... Bowden and JoePa did....You can't fire legends and Fulmer is no legend

i have nothing to prove to a stooge who knows nothing about football, or his bed buddy, mr. clip on tie dude.
I'm willing to stack my knowledge of anything up against yours. I'll readily admit that you'll destroy me in all redneck, idiot style pursuits (ie moonshine manufacturing / running, Hee Haw, sibling sex, etc.)

beating aige up...ARE YOU SERIOUS...he has a responsibility yo his temmates to do his friggin' job on the field. they did...HE DIDN'T. that is a LOSER'S mentality, son.

No, I don't feel that way at all. I never said they should win the NC every year. I also didn't think after watching them win it in 1998 that in the year of 2007 we would have not contended for one since '98. I know 2001 was close but can't we expect to get closer than that in a 10-year span? Do you see the Vols contending for the NC next season? We could end up like FSU and Penn St. if something isn't done, thanks for making my point. I'm not worried about FSU or Penn St., I'm worried about what Tennessee does.

Tennessee didn't really belong in the game tonight. These kids have fought hard this year and almost won tonight. UT played a bunch of freshmen tonight and should have won. I think there is an upside to this and I don't really care for Fulmer either, but I truly love UT and you people who are on here talking crap why don't you just pull for Bama since you sound like them. Good job Vols go win the outback bowl. According to Brenda and you all may know her, we will be at the Outback bowl

To be fair, if Phil somehow manages to win 1 more national title he'll have just as many as those two. Penn State hasn't won a national title since the 1980's have they not? Granted he's had a number of undefeated seasons. FSU is like us though, title success in the 1990's.

Exactly how many have they won??? Oh yea, and Fulmer, he brought a very mediocre team to the national spotlight. Fulmer should be a legend in the state of Tennessee, but for some reason we think a state with zero football talent should never lose a game. Without Phil, we are unimportant in college football. He goes and gets kids from Cali to NJ. But yea, your right fire the fat guy.

that's great, when you can't win the football argument you fall back on savant idiot nane calling techniques....and i expected so much more from you, boobie.

they play the games because we have to find out which teams have the players who can accomplish their jobs better than the other teams. The team that has everyone better accomplish their jobs, typically wins and can it is better. Our team didn't do that today.

Is Ainge's tough day reason to make idiotic blanket comments about never wanting to hear his name again? I'm no Ainge apologist, but he has been a 4 year letterman for our football team and been at the helm during many a win. He's not my favorite Vol QB, but he's still a Vol and has earned the right to be called such.

You on the other hand, have earned exactly.......squadoosh (for some Norman Chad parlance).

find out who can play??????????
he has sucked all season...are you blind????? is this stevie wonder i'm talking to?

I'm glad to see all the new junior members. Hope you enjoy this website as much as I have. Don't get upset with discussions that go on. The biggest fans are on this board so you will see extremes from both ends of opinions on the Vols. I do appreciate everyone's opinion even if I see it different.

Ainge suffered from an inability to throw a deep pass for a completion with any kind of consistency most of his career. The past two seasons we've never really been able to spread the field with longer passes. At this point I can't tell if it's coaching, poor receivers, Ainge himself, or some combination of all three. Just feels like the play action doesn't work any more because people just stuff the box to kill the run, and then hang back in zone to kill our short passes.

UT had 5 titles when Fulmer arrived. Penn State and FSU were irrelevant when their current coaches were hired. That is why those two are legends.
