Recruiting Forum: Football Talk XIII

Well, the press conference is over. CBJ said lots of things. But I really didn't hear too much after he said Gilliam is done. That one hurts. Bad.

This has to be a heartbreaker for him. Went 4 years without a scholly and the year he finally gets one this happens to him. Prayers to the kid.

This. Hate it for the guy.

Guys are going to have to step in and step up. Communication will be an issue most of the season but that should improve as the season progresses.

We're going to struggle versus SEC DL's but Worley moved well on Saturday, the pace of the offense began to wear down the D by the third quarter, and we spread the ball around enough that I think it will hide a lot of our OL issues...something I've been thinking for a while.

Hope the NCAA will give the young man a 6th year, if he wants to try to make it back. Keep your head up, JG.

One way to look at the Gilliam injury is that its better it happened against USU than Ark. St. that way there is at least one game for the OL to work out some kinks before OU.

Also, while this injury sucks, lets not act like Gilliam was Anthony Munoz. Yes, he was the starter, but how much better is he than Blair or Kendrick? The OL wasn't demolishing people on Sunday anyway, so lets try to have some perpsective.

It hurts the most IMO in that we have one less body to roll out there if/when other injuries happen.

Anyone know how many snaps Curt played Sunday?

And did anyone think he was on the field less than expected?

He was lined up all over the place. Maybe they limited his snaps some after we were up 3 scores, in order to protect his health.

Offensive Line has to get better in a hurry.

All it takes is for Justin Worley to get hurt again and we go 5-7 again.

I kinda thought the limited snaps were because of a lead, but I hadn't really noticed it. I'm just now getting to watch the game again.

Also, Barnett is a monster. Consistently in on plays on the sidelines. He's gonna be a problem for people.

The tempo and play calling was nice on the drive that got killed by the double false starts by kerbyson. Pace was fast, with quick hitters to Von. Worley made some good reads on the option plays too.

Coleman.. smh, but the PI on him was an awful call but still... C'mon man.

Jordan Williams looks good upfront, IMO.

And someone said vereen didn't get much pressure, but he's been in the backfield multiple times Keaton was just rolling away from him almost as soon as he snapped it, they obviously had Vereen in the scouting report.

They want him fully healthy and ready for OK. If we have a similar performance this Sat then I expect limited snaps again. He will get a full load come OK.

If you move Kerby to LT and Thomas to RT then the whole right side is true FR. So I bet Kerby and Jackson stay on opposite sides for now. Hopefully Blair takes the bull by the horns like he was supposed to. Damn we sure need him to.

Didn't know that.

Okay, how about "If only Dooley hadn't been a completely incompetent idiot who didn't a recruit a single OL in 2012"

ALWAYS okay to blame Dooley.

Stumped your toe? Dooley's fault.
Spilt coffee? Dooley's fault.
Everything bad can be traced back to Dooley or Obama. That's just facts of Tennessee.
