Riley Ferguson appears to be gone

Don't think Dobbs was even going against the ones as Ferguson and Worley were from what I read. Wasn't able to make this one.

Ferguson wasn't good against the ones or twos. Worley took the majority of snaps against the 1s.

Quote from Ainge's take on RF...

"Riley Ferguson was the only quarterback not elected into the players staff by his teammates. Not a good sign."

I'd like to hear more about this "players staff" and what it's all about.

isn't that the game where ut's offense plays against its own defense... That ranked 11th in the sec last year?

The guy may very well be much improved, but spring games against one's own struggling defense, where the qb can't get hit in the mouth, probably isn't the best way to arrive at that conclusion or make that judgment.

Ainge had some really interesting things to say about Riley this morning. Stated he helped Butch try to convince Riley to stay. I can't understand why Riley would want to leave for Charlotte when they just started their football program.

***Also, I do not have 100 posts or I'd just start a new thread***

With that said, does anyone know why Steve Phillips left TSR? Or did he even leave on his own accord? No announcement was made. I just saw on twitter that he confirmed to no longer be affiliated with the station. I really liked everything he has done. I know that Treece seems difficult to reason with at times...

If Steve Phillips isn't there, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess he was tired of the lack of professionalism.

Would someone please fill me in on past 43 pages. Is he gone because of grades or because of something else

I agree sir, so now "sounding" a certain way makes u a certain race?? I am the father of 2 black kids and my wife and I are white. We never think our kids talk black or white, they're both unique in their own way. One has dreads, sags his pants and rides a skateboard. The other is always in Jordans/Kobe's or LeBron's rocking some basketball gear. Both make excellent grades and are very respectful to those around them.

My point is, don't judge a book by it's cover.

Bases on Ainge's comments and those seemingly mysterious actions by CBJ now explained, I'd say the cover of the book accurately depicted the contents of the pages therein.

That is along the lines of my thinking. I know that Steve is very professional and it would have been nice to see him get his own show. He deserves it more than anyone else on that station besides Ainge

But in all honesty i do wish him the best of luck where ever he goes. (Jumping on the dobbs bandwagon now hes gone.) :)

Is he that emotionally unstable? He gets pissed, throws a fit and leaves a promising career behind, and generally shows his ass. Then, he turns around and cools off a few days later, says it was all a big mistake and begs for forgiveness?

If that happens, it seems like he needs to be laying on a couch somewhere instead of playing football.

IF RF was emotionally unstable a great deal would depend on how unstable. UT has student mental health services (open to every student) which include counseling, often by psychologists (PhDs) as well as psychiatrists (MDs with psych specialization). Psychiatrists aren't for talk so much as determine whether or not you need a Rx (some conditions do require that) and also those with other issues that many don't think of as mental illness so much as a developmental ones like ADD, Autism, and many others can get their Rx written by the psychiatrist because most students with preexisting conditions lose their doctors when they go off to college (psych is a lot bigger field than many think) - they need a Psych (MD) and the university makes one available.

The same is true for the student health center where other medical issues are treated everything from strep throat, ear infection etc. Doctors will see students there, Dx an infection (or whatever) and treat them for it.

IOW, *if* were unwell there are both counseling and a Psych who can write the right psychiatric drug for conditions that require it. He could've received regular treatment from one or both if he chose to and if he was afraid of the stigma, no one on the team or staff need know.

Seems likely... I remember when it was reported that he pitched a tantrum when he wasn't on the travel roster to Florida. He ended up getting his way and Dobbs stayed home. I read Ainge's report and tend to agree that RF felt entitled to a lot without putting in the work.

Where did you hear this???

If true then go beat out your competition and let them hold the clipboard. He's not entitled to anything. CBJ will start whoever gives us the best chance to win.
Absolutely! A winner/champion/leader won't run away at the first hint of bona fide competition. It appears some people are merely extrapolating he's leaving, basing this supposition upon subjective reasoning, and nothing's been likewise stated outside of one semi-insider's comment. Peyton was rumored to be leaving before his senior season, but, although reality ultimately dispelled all that, so called "experts" held to their suppositions 'til his first senior snap (or thereabouts). What's the reality here? Who knows, except maybe for Mr. Ferguson himself. If anyone on VN has received HIS comments, please interrupt this disruption to an otherwise pleasant day, and let's bore ourselves otherwise.:compute:

Well, if we all waited for facts and no opinions, I think VN would go out of business, because there would be no posts in any of these threads.

Yeah...those 3 touchdowns in the O/W game sucked, right?

Pffffftttttt. :loco:

If stats from the Orange and White game were any indication of future success, Jonathon Crompton should have been a Heisman winner

I can't believe people actually point out stats from a glorified practice
