'15 TN DE Dylan Jackson (former UT commit)

Any chance this kid is a big TE ala Wolf?

Looks like Dylan has some violent hands in those Vines. He owned some of those guys in that video. Glad our commits dominated at the Rivals Camp. Him and Butcher could be a beastly duo on D if they keep getting better.

Not suggesting it, just curious given his size and athleticism. I see a lot of OT talk, but don't recall TE talk other than jokes.

No he'll be an SDE or OT in college. I'm okay with no TE in this class if it means getting Gabe Angel in '16.

Dylan Jackson (Maryville, 6-6, 245, defensive end): Jackson committed to Tennessee in mid-January. The Class AAA Mr. Football Lineman finalist also garnered scholarship offers from Alabama, Northwestern, Vanderbilt and Duke – along with interest from Clemson and Ole Miss. Jackson just started to reach his potential as a junior. He’ll be scary good come August. His Hudl: Dylan Jackson - Hudl

100% moving to OT after a redshirt year. This has been the plan. He won't cut it at DE. He can carry another 40lb and be an athletic OT. Similar to Douglas.

I'm not sure that it's a sure thing, but I think he definitely has more upside at OT. especially given what will be ahead of him on the depth chart at DE.

Respect your opinion but he will be better served as an OT. There's no way he plays over some of the DEs we are bringing in from 2014 and 2015 classes. But we can review opinions in hindsight.

So you feel he does not stand a chance against the DEs we have coming in, yet you feel he will add 40+ pounds and have a better chance of beating out kids like Blair, Richmond, Jones, and fellas like that who have been OTs for years and he has never played the position? Interesting.

I could see him ending up at OT down the road simply because of need. With the way recruiting seems to be going at DE right now compared to OT I think that could certainly play a factor in the future.

Jackson and Blair would only overlap for one season while Jackson would be redshirting. Jones could easily move inside. So yes, I could see Jackson competing at OT if he gains weight.
