Chiles is visiting today Right? If I'm correct where does that leave Thompson standing on his decision?

He was scheduled to visit this weekend, that got cancelled by Tennessee supposedly. With the news on Suarez, and Thompson looking unlikely to return they desperately need anyone who can play PG, and Chiles fits that role.

Owens visiting Thursday and Friday. McKnight should be visiting soon. Basilio says that Thompson cancelled visit from Tyndall looks like he is moving on to another school. Carmichael is reported to be getting a visit.

If everything works out then:

Chiles
Mostella
Hubbs
Punter
Richardson
Moore
McGhee
Pops
Reese
McKnight
Owens
Carmichael

will be our roster. I expect we will add a couple more and lose another guy of the CCM era. I wish personally we could add Richmond and another big find Pops a good home in division 2.

Think they are saving the OV for someone else, or for Chiles to come back later?

That roster will be able to run and gun, but still no PG on the list you provided. Chiles is a combo guard at best, but in reality he's just a short 2 guard. If DT could get Thompson to come back, instead of Chiles, it would be ideal.

Then U.T. is going to have to play without a PG next year, regardless of Chiles coming or not. It will be interesting to see it attempted. Mostella is a 2 that might be able to play the 1, but other than that, if you're going to rely on Chiles, someone is going to have to pry the ball out of his hands.

If he can dribble the ball, beat the press, and defend the other PG, I'm fine with it. If the coach wants him to pass, he'll pass, otherwise, he won't likely play that much.

Tyndall has proven to work well with PGs though. He normally has a guy end up with 3+ assist per game from the position.

We will still have Lopez. I know it's not the best option but he could do it.

I assume you're replying to my post about Lopez. Watching his hoops profile video on UTSports, he seems to be full of energy and plays hard when he gets the chance. He's averaged 3.9 minutes per game in 31 games at UT. There's no way to KNOW what he can do. He could be a superstar waiting on his chance to break out.

Or he could be a bench player. Like I said, how do we know until we see way more minutes out of him?

Does not really matter IMO. The way it looks to me is IF CDT wants the kid, UOV, or OV does not matter. Kid will leave town a Vol.

Nobody said to worry about Chiles because it might be an UOV, that's good news if true. Like I said with only so many spots and so many OVs it makes things a bit harder, you're all about numbers, you should get this lol

I guess the point I am trying to make is a kid does not have to be on an OV to commit. A kid can choose to be a Vol having never set foot on campus. How many OVs we have left at this point to me means little. If a kid is looking for a chance at serious PT wherever he decides to go over the next month or so the second he steps on campus, Tennessee should be in his top group. OV's a great but there is little difference between an OV and an UOV if the staff wants to put on the full court press. Travel expenses is about the only difference really. If I like Tennessee and may want to play ball there, the price of gas to make the trip to see the campus and or commit would not stop me.
