Unofficial Coaching Search Thread

Last statement I saw from Tyndall was that he was happy at Southern Miss and loved the AD and wanted to stay, but that if the right opportunity came along, he couldn't afford not to look at it.

That means Tennessee still has a chance to land him.

Give him 1.25 million and he'll be coming to Knoxvegas with bells on.

If I had to pick between Tyndall and White, I'd take White.

I really think Hart could hire White at about 1-1.1 million a year. His buyout is also lower than Tyndall by about 200 grand. I like that White's SEC coaching(asst) days were not that long ago. A lot of those relationships would still be in place.

I hope Missouri doesn't hire White

I concur! White is a good fit with a lot of upside!

Havent seen one word from Pitino Jr. He never said he wasnt interested, his AD did. Seeing as how our AD didnt know his coach was talking to Cal, I'd take it with a grain of salt. Boyle and Tyndall gave a generic "i love my job" speech that means nothing. It is false to say they denied interest or shot UT down.

I can confirm Hart was at the Zoo today.

Please note he was seen in the last train car conducting interviews with possible candidates for the basketball coach opening.

Pretty slick Mr. Hart, pretty slick.

Because we will pay you like a top 30 coach, 3-5 in conference but expect top 20 results and top 2 in conference.

Ready to sign?

That's comical. They're better coaches than CCM so they'd be rewarded for it in their pay. You don't pay for potential, that's what makes you go bankrupt. You pay for results; consistent results. Harts not so dumb to realize that. We don't have a member of the Mickey Mouse club running our AD anymore. Whether he pays for them is another scenario but don't act like he'd "insult" them with a Martinesque offer. Your boy was offered what he's worth and deserves, it isn't changing, so stop lamenting over it. Your tiresome diatribe is tiresome.

Couple that with the fact that he blasted and ridiculed anyone who dared to say the extension and raise with CCM were not a done deal and that CCM was going to continue to interview to try to land another job......and it just gets old - day in day out..... Don't dare cross him or he will spend post after post picking away at you.......

Yeah, just saw your post. Was referring to BTO's statement about them saying they were not interested in some form. It's flat ojt false. BTO seems to have a "sky is falling" attitude about this search. Baffles me.

Agree with you. UT is a great job with great support IF you do a decent job. Pearl came here and won. He filled seats and won games and get a raise after a year. Within 2 years he got new practice facility and renovated arena. He also got more $, So this idea that UT ia a job that demands alot but offers little support and reward, is baseless. I liked CCM too, but Hart should not jave invested more than he was worth. I am very confident that a good hire will be made.

His picking is purely emotional and opinionated posited as if he truly knows something. I will bet my salary, my wife's salary, my mortgage and my savings that he has absolutely no idea what goes on in the AD or the bball world in general. His connections consists of followin the same folks on twitter that I do.

Like I've said already, people want us to compete with Florida and UK. Would UK be deciding between Donnie Tyndall and Michael White if they had a vacancy.

Which would you like the link to? Pitino, miles or Tyndall.

They're not gonna come out and say themselves no I don't want the Tennessee job, that's not the way things work.

There's been a release or reports about all 3 not being interested though if you really want links.

You're right, I got lucky on the Okoroh and Cofer commits, just happened to call the commitment before anyone else....pure luck.

In 05 UT was deciding between the UWM coach and Winthrop coach and they did quite well against those 2. Competing against UF and UK doesnt mean UT has to be them. If you dont think either of those guys would have UT competing in the SEC, I cant help you.

I didn't say they wouldn't, but just like people whine about 3* not working out more than developing into stars. It's more often than not that taking a shot on a mid major doesn't work out than it happens to be a Homerun.

Tennessee's last 3 hires from mid majors, Buzz, Pearl and Martin. 1/3, not a great success rate.
