After researching the younger guys I have come to the conclusion that all of the candidates mentioned have a better resume than Martin when he first arrived. That's a good start.

Also, this White guy at La Tech coaches (and his teams play) a brand of basketball that makes those 40 minutes of hell Arkansas teams look slow.

id love to hire Ben Howland. I figured Hart would be too conservative to take him on. Thatd be a huge splash and major improvement. hed probably even stay long term if successful. home run hire.

If the big names say no and Howland says no. White is my first choice. Really like coaches that played pg at a high level.

Love his style and could probably get him for a good price.

My 2nd tier begins with Pitino, but I wouldn't be upset with White after watching his teams.

My face nearly peeled off watching them play. Fastest pace in the country by a long shot.

I just hope we end up with a coach that I can understand when he speaks and doesn't mumble and sound like Barry White....

Pitino Jr is the 2014 version of Buzz Peterson. Buzz won the NIT before coming to UT,that should give you cause to think. Just because his father is a great coach doesn't mean he is. Tennessee doesn't need to be an on the job training program.

Because we will pay you like a top 30 coach even though your average RPI finish is 66. Heck, if you luck up and manage to score a top-50 RPI once in a while, we'll give you a big raise.

Because we will give you at least 1.3 million a year and only expect a NCAAT appearance once every three years. We will also give you a big raise when you make it that one year! You can recruit only 2 and 3 stars (or 5 stars that play like 2 stars) and never have to call a timeout or call a play! I almost forgot... I saved the best for last... You can NEVER challenge calls and/or speak to refs and that might even call for another raise! You ready to sign?!

I hope Mizzou ponies up for Haith. That would be a) hilarious and b) good for our coaching search. If there's one program willing to hire a coach with some baggage it's Mizzou. We don't need them trying to snatch up Howland.
