Good god, what a joke if true. Pathetic job by Hart, let Zo go for Tyndall? Great move.
Not
Do you think a coach/recruit looks into the stands and says, boy this place looks less than half full. Or do you think they look at the box score and say, wow 18k fans were at the game?
Our actual attendance, which as you correctly state can't accurately be counted, is nowhere near what is was Pearl years or even Martin's first 2 years. The tickets sold numbers doesn't show near the drop off that actually occurred, but I don't expect you to admit that.
I don't know much about him but that's the name I'm hearing. I told you early on I didn't expect a great hire from Hart. You have to realize Hart's got one hand tied behind his back with Cheek looking over his shoulder. I think it will come out in the future that there was some serious ish between the AD and the basketball coach.
If the plan all along has been let Martin go to replace him with Tyndall, then Hart needs to go too.
That's the big issue with letting things drag out like Hart did. Unless he has an ace in the hole he already knew he could land, he handled this very poorly.
And you really think that CCM had no part in "letting things drag out". Hart said in presser that soon after NCAAT he met with CCM and gave him terms of raise and extension. Couple that with the fact that CCM interviewed with Marquette and Cal. and had the coaches conference (might add in some other unofficial interviews) and it is clear that CCM had no desire to be here. But you go on putting all the blame on Hart, the Admin, the big money boosters and the fans.
Has nothing to do with him at all or his coaching or recruiting. CCM went 1 of 4 against Vandy and Texas A & M for crying out loud. I guess thats the fans fault too.
:good!:
Not disagreeing. I don't know much about Tyndall. If you look back at my previous post it was my opinion that Cuonzo wasn't happy here. Started last year when he felt disrespected for not getting a raise/extention last year. It was my opinion if Cuonzo wanted to leave Hart wouldn't put up much of a fight. I also said don't expect a splash hire of a proven major school coach.
That's my point though. You could've made Martin feel wanted and I'm sure made him a lot happier.
Bouncing around from mid major mediocre coach to mid major decent coach isn't the way to go, especially if you're not gonna pay them accordingly.
If Hart didn't think Martin was the long term solution here at TN why invest so much? I'm sure he probably asked himself the question, "if not for his buyout would I keep him?" I don't know how he answered that but if he had the chance to get Martin out without paying a buyout and actually receiving a buyout and getting a new coach in here that he could believed in, I think he'd jump all over it. I believe that's exactly how it played out.

If he doesn't think Martin is the long term solution and thinks Tyndall is that scares the **** out of me.
