Recruiting Forum: Football Talk XI

Not worried here. His production has been average at best since his contract holdout. He hasn't been worth the money.

On a sad note I have to leave Jamaica today. Back to Murica where people don't wait on me hand and foot.

Safe journey home.

4th to 5th round. The NFL guys will be very down on his discipline. He could get picked in the 7th round for all I know. It's more likely 7th than 2nd though.

He reminds me of Bruce Campbell big time.

He said the other day that he played at 65% most of last year. Could that be an excuse, yes, but he's not a 7th rounder.

If he's not off the board by the 4th round, I'll be surprised. It would indicate to me that there's something more going on; injury, poor interviews, etc.

We already can factor in injuries, the huge lack of discipline, and his run blocking ability is bad. He must of meant 65% effort, because his mistakes were mental. The NFL does not look highly at mental mistakes. He's another George Foster, Bruce Campbell, and other examples of big linemen who aren't too great.

It has been a fantastic trip and I am not really sad either. Had a great time and I recommend Jamaica, and particularly Sandals Ocho Rios, to anyone. Top notch.

I went to ocho rios on a cruise. It freaked me out. Will never go back. There was a strip club next to a day care. People begging everywhere.

That's not entirely true. If he was playing with a knee injury the false starts could just as easily have come from compensating for decreased mobility.

I think he comes off before the 4th based on physical ability and position. Too much upside.

I went to Ocho Rios as well. It was beautiful but then again anything down in the carribean with crystal blue water and all your can drink along with a snack bar that is open until 3AM is my kind of place. We went to Beaches, because my buddy had a small kid and it was his wedding.

The people were nice, the staff and the accomodations were nice I have one problem. I get antsy as a person and like to walk around some and go off and see what downtown is like or eat at a local bar and in Jamaica you can't do that at all. I had this misconception that there was a solid resort area and it was hotel after hotel and then there was one main gate you couldn't get past but it actually is separate areas and you cant get past the resort you are at. As a matter of fact the beach next door to ours which looked pretty and deserted was a local beach and the staff yelled at a guy for going on the beach.

If you want t recommendation I would say St. John and Jost Van Dyke OR Barbados and I have been to probably 10 countries down there. The least would be DR or Jamaica

One last thing, if you are a beer guy like Ron, myself and few others you will not like Jamaica because all they serve at the high end resorts is RED STRIPE which is not my favorite at all. Although beaches has a piano bar and in there (included) was a Johnnie Walker Blue bottle that saw the bare glass bottom by the end of my trip. (SECRETS SHHHH :salute:)

Went there on our honeymoon and enjoyed it. Now that I have kids, I think id enjoy a trip to an all-inclusive resort a whole bunch more than I did back then. Need to plan another trip.

In one sense I agree. In another I think fans just need to buckle up and recognize where we are as a program. Long term the future is very bright if people stick with Butch IMO.

I don't think people are going to have a problem sticking with Butch for another 3 years or so. I think any heat this year, fair or not, will most likely be directed at Bajakian and/or Jancek. If I was predicting right now I'd say Jancek has the tougher job with team 118. If he can salvage his front four he'll survive and we'll have a satisfying year. If he can't it could get ugly. jmo.

Uh oh...this thing may not be over for Mr Heisman. Not good.

Both Casher and Darby admitted they saw Winston having sex with the accuser, and Casher said that he took video of the sex act on his phone, although he eventually deleted it, according to Weinstein.

With that in mind, the university charges against Casher and Darby are as follows:

"Both Casher and Darby face FSU charges of "conduct of a sexual nature that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment for another person" and "acts that invade the privacy of another person." Casher faces an additional charge of "recording of images without consent." If found responsible in a university hearing, they could receive punishments ranging from a letter of reprimand to expulsion from the university."

While Casher and Darby came forward with their side of the story, Winston was advised by his legal counsel to refrain from answering questions, per Weinstein. That resulted in no charges being levied against him, although the door isn't shut provided new information becomes available.

According to Weinstein, the accuser's attorney, Baine Kerr, believes Winston should face repercussions if he doesn't speak up:

"We're pleased that the university is finally attempting to meet its Title IX obligations, but it shouldn't be well over a year (after my client's assault). ... If Mr. Winston continues to refuse to discuss what happened that night, it's difficult to see how the university can avoid taking action."

Florida State Faces Federal Inquiry for Jameis Winston Sexual Assault Allegation | Bleacher Report

Funny how fsu didn't do their investigation during the season when the state was doing theirs. A potential Heisman winner and NC was too important to risk, I guess. Screw the possible victim. She'll have to wait smh. Unless there's some rule that says the school can't investigate student-athletes during their respective season I see no other reasons they'd choose to wait until after the Heisman and NCG.

How is Treyvon Paulk coming along?

"His rehab has gone really well from talking to people, but my personal belief is that no one is truly 100 percent that first year coming off an ACL.

Rarely is a guy mentally and physically back to where he was within a year of surgery. I think a redshirt year would be good for Paulk, especially with the depth the Vols have now.

Just would allow him not to rush back."

So many things that are both extremely gross and sad about that Winston report.

I agree. The incompetence needs to be addressed and punished. Higher education should not have these ethical problems.

What would be the course of action with the university? Do you punish the school or do you include the football program. If so, how about baseball?

Punish both. They both have gross ethical violations. Winston should be in prison right now for pergury.

Fort is right. We will need him most as this team gains experience and gets SEC championship ready in 2015. Get him well and developed for that.

Whether folks will admit it or not, everybody knew FSU and the local law enforcement were covering the real situation up to get through the NC, which was aided and abetted by the NCAA. That was so obvious. To watch Winston through the Heisman award show and the NC game was tough to stomach.

It's weird to think that we have "depth" at RB. If Paulk was healthy, we would be loaded this year. Lane, Hurd, Scott, Paulk, Young, and Hill.
