I remember that there was more than just meager press releases..... but perhaps that was just media hype....

regardless considering how much press was predicting ccm to marquette it would be great pr for CCM, UT bball and the AD to leverage the media right now with the contract ext raise......

been reading some articles regarding CBP raises exts and there are quotes from him not just press releases but perhaps the quotes came from post press release interviews with CBP. and the raises and exts were agreed to which is also different than present situation.

they did want him. thier sources had already filled media in that it was done when Martin called and said no thanks. Gary Parrish at CBS already had story written..

Marquette is a mess. New president, interim AD and their BB coach just left a basketball school for 500K less at a football school.. that's why he said no thank you.

and Hart convinced him Tennessee wanted him here

i dont need a link because all you have offered is your opinion on what may have occurred with the marquette joband Tennessee's response or position. i dont think u are as connected as you present on this board. and i do not think that CCM was offered the marquette job. and I dont think that Hart was going to get into a bidding war over CCM.

frankly there is no way to know with certainty whether the job was offered to him. yes the actual terms of CCM new contract/raise/ext will be interesting but those terms will prove nothing but what is contained therein.....

Well crap, here's to a couple more years of boring basketball, losing to teams we should kill, getting swept by the likes of Texas A&M 's of the world....and averaging 9th in the SEC in recruiting. .

I don't know where I stand, I'm glad he and the team made the run they did, I'm glad he finally showed some kind of emotion on the sideline.. I just hope it wasn't just for that stretch run, I hope this is what we will see from now on..

You don't know how job searches work. I guarantee you that Martin was offered the job. Marquette wouldn't have made it public that it was after Martin if they didn't think they had a chance at hiring him. Schools don't want a bunch of coaches turning them down publicly. They do a lot of probing behind the scenes and when a coach is interested then they put it out there for the media. If they didn't feel like they could've hired him, they wouldn't have made it public.

Easy bro, he had a moment of weakness, I told him about the BBQ and Kegs and he is back. I didn't even have to mention the super hot former U.T. admin that hangs out on our side.
