Not really. He's absolutely right about Guarantano's talent level. I love Dobbs but Guarantano is more gifted. He's taller, has a stronger arm, and is faster. If he puts it all together his ceiling is higher than Dobbs. In fact, Guarantano's ceiling is higher than any other QB in college football right now.
The only reason I'm not ready to guarantee that he'll be better than Dobbs is because intangibles are huge at the QB position. Dobbs for now has the advantage when it comes to intangibles. Dobbs is durable, insanely competitive, incredibly confident, ridiculously smart, and has a tireless work ethic that drives him to improve. I have no concerns about his ability to succeed in the NFL because I have no concerns about his intangibles and obviously he has all the tools physically.
From the little bit I've seen in interviews from Guarantano he does have similar traits to Dobbs when it comes to confidence and intelligence. We'll have to see if he's as durable, competitive, and has the tireless work ethic to reach his insanely high ceiling. Guarantano based purely on physical tools has the ability to be the GREATEST QB OF ALL-TIME. But then again so did Colin Kaepernick and we all saw how that turned out. Hopefully Guarantano reaches his potential unlike Kaepernick.
