you claim to not know about DailyKOS, HuffPo, and Keith Olbermann yet you are quite adept at repeating their talking points. Maybe you're more at home with a luminary like John Stewart or maybe Bill Maher.

Alot of truth is said in jest- especially when we are mislead (and sometimes lied to outright) daily by the traditional media. Why do you think nearly all the major political figures from both sides have appeared on the Daily Show?

Bush has better approval ratings than the Pelosi/Reid led Congress which supposedly was elected on a mandate.

Valid, but irrelavent. Bush has consistently had the lowest approval rating in presidental history.

Those liberals over at Fox News also point out that congress usually does have lower approval ratings than the President.

FOXNews.com - Poll: Bush Approval Lower Than Ever, Congress Matches All-Time Low - Politics | Republican Party | Democratic Party | Political Spectrum

Another thing I don't get is one minute you guys defend Bush and the next you want to paint him as a liberal socialist democrat pretending to be a republican. Well, which one is it, is he a liberal or do you want to keep defending the guy?

I'm sure daddy had no hand in assuring Georgie was "taken care of" at Harvard.

Besides, a "purchased" college education from a snooty Ivy League school doesn't not make someone fit to lead a nation.

I know a half-wit when I see one.
The government had more to do with Barack and Michelle Obama landing at such academic institutions than GHB had to do with GWB graduating from Yale and Harvard.

Thats usually the case, the political climate runs over into all branches of the goverment, but congress has also had the lowest approval ratings ever.
We critize Bush when we feel like he's been wrong, immigration, growth of goverment, some other issues, and reconize him when we feel like he has done something right, judges appointed, defense, taxes.
And Bush has always been way more moderate than conservative. You go back to his Texas days, hasn't changed much at all.
Its the same when you hear Dems attack Lieberman for not being left enough, he's also considered a moderate by most, just the other side of the political spectrum.

If Lieberman was a Rebub they'd call him a maverick

I've yet to see any of you libs on here talk about Obama's promised tax hike on gas, his rolling back of the tax cuts, etc. Or Hillary's UHC (and Obama's for that matter)... I could go on and on. We get it, you hate Bush, he spent a lot. How is he/she going to be any better?

Wow... I don't believe for a minute that Obama is Muslim (if he was I'd still vote for him), that he was involved with Tony Rezko, or that GHB didn't have anything to do with GWB getting into Harvard (someone had to pay for it, I doubt he got in on scholly's). I, personally, doubt that Barak and Michelle Obama needed to use the government to get into college, possibly financial aid but most certainly not equality. They're both smart people.

Right. You do understand that the only thing GWB had going for him in terms of being accepted to Yale, in 1964, was that his father was an alum, right? You know that, don't you? I am just checking to make sure that you understand that GHB was not even a US Congressman until 1967. Maybe your argument will change now to GWB only got in to Yale because of his grandfather, Prescott.

Also, what exactly is your barometer for "they are both smart people"? Apparently, we cannot use degrees to ascertain anything in this argument, since GWB has an Ivy League BA and MBA. Is it that Obama wrote a book and is a charasmatic speaker? There are plenty of idiots who are charming, and any editor and/or publisher worth his salt can properly push a "story that appears to resonate well with the morons that are the American public" to the correct mediums for success.

Had Obama not given the key not speech at the DNC and not been featured on Oprah, his book would not have cracked the top 100. Correlation here? Speechwriter at DNC. Oprah cult following sells his worthless book. I would rather read James Frey's second published lie, My Friend Leonard.

My best arguments do not belong in the political forum. My apologies for not supporting our current president and having no interest in his academic endeavors. You and I know for a fact that your father being an alum does give you an extra boost at any and all facilities of higher learning. Bush is incompetent.

I've read both books and they are amazing. I hate Oprah, btw.

Why is it that on this forum most people attack Obama with as much passion as they show for UT? Afraid? Are there still race issues? I understand Tennessee is mostly republican and I accept that my home state and I don't agree, but Christ... I've never seen more disdain for a single person since the last time I read something about Calipari.

You do know that Obama's father was a Harvard man, right?

I attack Obama with the same vigor that I attack everyone else with. I fail to see the any substance behind the man in anything he has ever done in life. He has shmoozed his way through everything he has ever accomplished. Yet, he never sticks with anything long enough to be found out. Unfortunately, for him, the Executive Office here is highly scrutinized and incredibly unforgiving.

Hey now, if it makes you feel any better I would rather have him than Hillary. I wish him luck, just not too much

I didn't know that, thanks. Now, stupid question, where did Obama and his wife go to college?

EDIT: Columbia and Harvard Law.

I think Obama went to Harvard and Michelle went to Princeton. I believe that is right, but not 100% sure.

Obama did two years at Occidental College in LA. Two at Columbia. He then got his law degree at Harvard Law.

Michelle Obama completed her undergrad at Princeton.

It is just so sickening that people like Volatile cannot appreciate a the same difference of opinion that he expects. Just because someone does not want his choice for candidate then they MUST be racist.

I won't vote for Obama because he is more of the same with less. I can atleast say that I will vote for someone who served in the military and was a friggin POW. Mccain has struggled more and faced more adversity in one day than Obama or HRC had in their entire life. Everything else is pretty much equal. All of them are full of hot air and promises. And I might add that one of the three is atleast saying that he will NOT raise taxes, which by the way means I won't have more money taken from me and given to some useless piece of garbage sneaking over our borders to become educated.

I will say this, "if" McCain wins, I will be interested in what he does, because he has change some of his stances on issues, like immigration, taxes. I would like to see a poll taken of who his VP is going to be. Saw a list last night of Romney, R. Perry(Texas), Pawlenty(Minn). I guess Thompson was never really interested in getting back in, wouldn't mind his name on the list, also.

I try to respect everyone's opinion, regardless of how sideways I think it is.

I like Obama.

I like McCain.

I think both are very capable leaders.

Obama's mean plug is change. McCain's plug is to stay the course. (in a nutshell) I believe this country needs change.
