Malpractice use of TOs

Miss state has a laughing stock of a basketball program right now.

They routinely finish at the bottom of the league in the standing.

They are a fixture at the bottom in attendance

They are a fixture at the bottom of the league in facilities.

Their fanbase has very little interest in that program

In fact he used the TO tonight right after an AND1. Which makes it even worse.

I have coached multiple basketball teams. None where television is involved. There are really 3 reasons to use/have timeouts: have for the end of half/game situations to stop the clock and set your defense or an offensive play, trying to stop a run by an opposing team, and, depending on the situation, just giving your team a break.

Barnes is doing as good a job as he can do with this roster. Seriously, take off your blinders! How do our shortcomings fall on Barnes at all? If this was another team with our roster and we played them, the only thing people would have to say is "wow, those guys suck" we wouldn't be blaming their coach. We have no size! Come on, get serious.

I WONT ALLOW THAT! We did including JB (until he decided to jump boat..due to the wrongdoing against him) and we do have size RK and Alexander. Who both have been recruited personally by yours truly rick Barnes. They both suck "key word" suck which is why they aren't getting Pt right? So why did he waste those months to recruit not 1 but 2 mediocre players :whistling:!!

Only PPL to blame ARE THE PLAYER? GTFO WITH THAT RUBBISH ... OUR COACHING STAFF IS HORRIBLE, the man had how many months to improve the players HE RECRUITED and INHERITED :zeitung_lesen: I BET I AM GOING TO HEAR THE SAME STORY NEXT YEAR...your only hope is to improve the post or recruit ranked players but that wont happen with a loosing record..

PS: Alexander should of played more if hes improving that much..yet hes still barely touching the floor..So either our coach is being truthful with his improvement or there is some serious conspiracy in the works :dunno:

So dumb when people say this about any coach. Do they play a part, yes, and a big one, but the guys on the floor/field play an even bigger one. Give Coach K this roster and he would struggle too.

Wow. I can't believe that Barnes wasn't able to snatch all of those McDonald AAs away from Duke and Kentucky in that amount of time. Who cares that he is the third coach in three years.

And, playing the players out of position out of necessity. No worries, a piece of cake.

Geez, I invite you to step back into reality. This team is at least one more recruiting cycle away from being anywhere near good. Maybe more. We just went through it in football. You should know the drill.

I agree. That was a bad post on my part.

Barnes 100% stole any opportunity we had to win the game IMO. Would the players have followed thru and won it I am certainly not going to say that was 100%

Barnes unexplainably went away from the great 1st half defensive approach of trapping on the perimeter and also sat on his hands regarding TOs. Those 2 in game decisions forfeited any chance of winning


As far as coach K. He would win 17-19 games with this roster

He's still relatively young, and sometimes it just doesn't click right away. Tell him to keep his head up and keep working hard. Hopefully he'll get there. :salute:

Well Barnes didn't call one until after Georgia took a 10pt lead AND baulkman hits a basket and 1. Then unexplainably Barnes called A TO. Smdh


When should a TO been called? Well the absolutely latest it should have been called was when the run was at 15-4 when Georgia took the lead on a 3. We got a 25ft shot from moore that hasn't made a 3 this year I don't think. And the very next possession Georgia hits another 3 to make the run 18-4.

And guess what Barnes didn't call a TO again he waited until we got down 10 and then started to come back.
