"Look out for Vols next year".

In not surprised that they think it, but It's just not something opposing fans generally go out of their way to say. People seem very willing to give Butch props for what he's doing. It's the exact opposite reaction they had to Lane Kiffin when they were walking around acting like a bunch of guys that wanted to tell their friend that he just married a stripper.

I gotcha.

Have you ever noticed CBJ's demeanor when he's talking to the refs? Whether he's upset or not, his interaction with them is always so focused. Not sure how to explain what I'm talking about, but I really noticed it at the game when they were showing the replay, and the refs standing with both of the coaches. Jones looks them in the eye, and stays completely engaged with them when he's talking to them or listening to what they're telling him.

There's a lot of things I like about him. I know he talks like a broken record sometimes, but over the course of the season we've heard our players use some of the keywords we hear from Jones. I personally like it.

the cliches are funny and sometimes tired sounding, but I think that repetitive language actually works with the players.

Im just as worried about Arkansas as I am anybody else we play next year

Let's not worry about vandy, kentucky, uab, and whatever other cream puff we are playing. These are four schools that we should win barring our team overlooking them. Which I'm glad we are getting back to that kind of point that we have to worry about our guys over looking someone.

When rival fan bases start saying Wow, and Oh S**t you know your team is on the verge of great things

I passed over an SEC fansite today where everybody picked the Vols to win the east this season except for Missouri fans, they think they rule. Big comeuppance in store for Missouri next year. Big time!

Need to see 2015 OL play a couple of quality defenses before I make a prediction. All the talking heads say that OL, tackle in particular, will be our Achilles heel.

They will have their chance in the O&W game against our defense, which will be as good as any next year.

My friends here in Georgia are worried.
They need to be. We beat ourselves this year and they had a healthy Gurley. They'll have an inexperienced QB and WRs. We'll likely destroy them.

He certainly isn't a wimp when it comes to dealing with the refs. He let's them have it. At the UGA game I thought he was going to blow a gasket.

I live in the heart of enemy territory (Alabama).

I work with mostly Auburn grads but there are a decent number of other schools grads here as well as Bama fans (most went to U of Ala schools but not tuscaloosa).

Every single grad... GT, VT, Auburn, LSU, UGA, FSU, etc in my building have taken notice. They've shifted from "I feel bad for you" to "wow, you guys looked good" with comments from people who follow recruiting usually making a comment about the wealth of talent Butch is butchin' into Knoxville.

They all are noticing and talking about the Vols. In a year where the SEC looked to slump UT is balling out with the most played Freshmen and yet another huge recruiting class coming in. Arkansas, UT and UGA were the standard bearers for the SEC in bowls this year.

While this isn't guaranteeing a 10+ win season in 2015... I will say I feel MUCH better about our defense for 2015 than I did coming into 2014 and much much MUCH better about our QB coming into 2015. I wish we had a more consistent passing attack but I can understand our pitfalls late in the season with North and then Croom out and Pearson still not 100%.

Next year should be an improvement. No QB race so Dobbs can spend all his time with our WR corps.

North, Croom, Howard, Malone (hopefully without his head up his own @ss), Johnson, Jenkins, Wharton and adding in Williams (probable RS though) looks very stout on paper. Add in Wolf, Ellis and Oliver at TE and hopefully a ready-to-play Blair at LT and, guys, I think we got ourselves a stew going.

I was in KC MO the day after Iowa victory. I saw a old mad with a hawk eye hat and I said "tough game" (with a cheeky little smile)I was wearing my orange hat, Tennessee hat. He told me that our team is young, hungry and he thought we would win it all next year. I said possibly, but 2016 for sure. Then I walked away, neither one of us said any kind of good bye, just went our separate ways.

I wouldn't get too excited yet. It's been enumerated many times on this board, and it's a credit that we've had some reasonable threads on this topic, that we'll still be loaded with youth next year. Athletic, talented youth, but still, men that have not had much college snaps and/or time in the weight room. '16 should be better, but 6-6 (would be kind of a bummer I admit) or 7-5 (more reasonable) are pretty sensible expectations for next year.

Yup... But you should put on a flak jacket and prepare for incoming.
I really really really hope we can finally beat Mizzou next year.

They always are. Just like gator fans... and it is all talk. When the season starts and they get a couple wins under their belts, the arrogance will come back out.

You have to be repetitive with football players. Let's face it, only one of them is truly a rocket scientist.

Even I could hand the ball off to any of the stable of stud RBs they have... inexperience at QB ain't gonna mean a whole lot. GA is gonna play smash mouth football next year, and that's all they will have to do. It will be fun to watch actually, and before some of you start, I despise UGA as much as anybody.

Tell me another team in the country that returns 19 starters, 20 if you include Kicker?

To respond to you and sameolvol, we'll still be playing mostly True Freshman and true Sophomore's. My point is we're not going to be a 2-deep filled with Jr's, Sr's, RS Jr/Sr, etc. So, there will still be growing pains, even if the team is athletic, talented, and hopefully develop and progress. I think we're going to be fun to watch, and I'm looking forward to it, but realistically, '16 will be more what we want to see.

Remember, even the #1 overall ranked recruit in the nation Clowney was mostly a 3rd down pass rushing specialist DE his true Freshman yr. It wasn't until he was a Sophomore that he really came into his own. We'll have a lot of Freshman and Sophomores next yr.
