I wish the T-Rex would be the antagonist in the reboot. I don't know. There's just something magical about the T-Rex. The Spinosaurus in JP3 did nothing for me.

Yeah, that thing was too cheesy I thought, and not enough realistic movement or details. Gimme that giant animatronic T-Rex any day of the week. Awesome videos here of it. It just moves with such natural fluidity. Also, the degree of detail in the skin as well as the overall proportions of the dinosaur make it the most believable representation of a dinosaur that I've ever seen (even to this day when we have so much more advanced technology).

I don't get why everyone thinks the first movie is so awesome and the sequels suck. They are all kind of B movies. The first one has some great scenes, but was really slow at times. The sequels gave you the unbridled carnage you wanted to see in the first one. FTR, I think the first is the best movie, but it's not that much better than the sequels.

?

This is a sequel and I'm talking up the sequels (kind of), whereas everyone else seems to be thoroughly trashing them.

Oh Gotcha. Yeah I loved the first one mostly because of how they completely changed the game of how special effects should be handled. I've never seen any CG character look or move with the same realism that those animatronics in the first movie did (before or since). And the location was just so rich. In addition, it just had a certain character and vibe that the other movies were lacking (Lol, super vague, I know). I guess I can't really explain why I love the first one above and beyond the others, but I do.

I think it sort of a combination. Moving on but forgetting some of the less stellar history.

I agree. We'll just have to see how they tie it in. I was 10 when the first one came out. A realistic looking dinosaur movie and I loved it. Still a real big fan of that first one. This trailer has a couple things like the first. Hopefully it's picked up.

This was literally one of my favorite movies of all time. If I could completely forget seeing one movie and watch it again it'd be Jurassic Park.

A new look at Jurassic World's Indominus Rex revealed

indominus-rex-jurassic-world.jpg

It’s going to be the new attraction at the functioning park and its official description from the official JURASSIC WORLD site is as follows:

We set out to make Indominus the most fearsome dinosaur ever to be displayed at Jurassic World. The genetic engineers at our Hammond Creation Lab have more than delivered. At first glance, Indominus most closely resembles a T. Rex. But its distinctive head ornamentation and ultra-tough bony osteoderms can be traced from Theropods known as Abeliosaurs. Indominus’ horns have been placed above the eye orbit through genetic material hybridized from Carnotaurus, Majungasaurus, Rugops and Giganotosaurus. Fearsome indeed. Indominus’ roar is estimated to reach 140-160db—the same as a 747 taking off and landing. And it can reach speeds of 30 mph…while confined to its enclosure. Come experience Indominus Rex for yourself beginning this summer. If you dare.

Take a look beyond the smoke and shadows to see the new baddy:

Another note from the site: “Indominus’ teeth are being constantly replaced—a genetic distinction common to all Theropods as well as nearly all sharks.” Did they just mate JAWS and JURASSIC PARK? I hope so! We don’t know if this dinosaur has been made with practical effects or if we can expect a CG-rex to disappoint us a little.

JURASSIC WORLD opens in theaters on June 12th 2015.

I vote good...when you can train raptors?

I like Chris Pratt but the stupidity of training raptors to attack another super dinosaur created using immoral scientific methods seems tired and played out.

Eh, it's established canon through the series that Raptors are very intelligent...actual "problem solving" ability. For them to turn out to be capable of domestication seems plausible with that canon. People are going to want Raptors in a JP movie...at least this would be a different take. Remains to be seen how well it actually works.
