Jackie Sherrill did more at Miss St than Mullen has. Mullen has more bowl appearances only because there are 259 bowls now. Sherrill not only would get Miss St ranked during the season, he wouldn’t blow it down the stretch. Mullen might sniff a couple ten win seasons at Tennessee, but he’d never get us to the promised land.

Mullen has gone to more bowls than Sherrill. Mullen has faced tougher competition than Sherrill ever had in the West.

Sherrill never got to #1 ranking or BCS bowl.

The only thing Sherrill has over Mullen is the 1 SEC West title that remains the only one in program history.

Has won big as a player and coach. Parcells, belichick, Walsh, Osborne name 4 better coaches.

Miss ST went to 6 bowl games in the nineties. The revisionist history of this place never ceases to amaze

LOL.

Jackie Sherrill was .500 at Miss State (not .500 in the SEC; .500 overall; he had a losing conference record.) He also coached at Miss State when the SEC West was as weak as its ever been. There's no comparison whatsoever between Sherrill and Dan Mullen. It's like saying Mike Shula was as good as Nick Saban at Bama. Not only does Mullen have a significantly better record at Miss State than Jackie Sherrill, he's done in when the SEC West has been the toughest division in college football.

When Mullen was hired at MSU, there was one SEC school that did not have a .500 record all-time.

Here's a hint, it wasn't Vandy...

That’s simply false. Mullen has won at a rate of 60% since being at MSU. Their current all time win percentage is 49%.

So if they had a .500 alltime record or better when Mullen was hired, how has his 60% win percentage there since 2009 somehow brought it down below .500 currently?

Can’t wait to see how you explain that magical math.

UCF record

George O'Leary
2015 0-12

Scott Frost
2016 6-7
2017 9-0

This to me speaks louder than words. He took an 0-12, let that sink in, 0-12 team and has turned it into a 9-0 undefeated team. This is amazing to me.

Who in their right mind doesn't see how this is a home-run hire?

Lane Kiffin 2.0

If a school not named Nebraska hires him, better have that contract written up correctly.

Last I checked Nebraska has an opening this year and they want to hire him. I'd say if he takes another job it's safe to say he passed on Nebraska
