East Tennessee Weather II

TVA is begging people to reduce their energy consumption. Too much strain on the grid. This is 3rd world country ish and embarrassing.

Had a power outage last night for about 4 hours, and now we’ve got another one.
I hope it gets restored for good soon. My road is still iced over and impossible to travel on, so I still can't get to work. Oak Ridge just doesn't care about treating residential roads even if they are just off the main turnpike.

Alert!!!!!

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THURSDAY TO 7 PM
EST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of
up to one inch and ice accumulations up to one tenth of an
inch. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Northern and central portions of East Tennessee.

* WHEN...From 7 PM Thursday to 7 PM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

Freezing rain is nasty stuff. Looks like we're in for some light ice accretion tonight across much of the state. It'll just make driving that much more difficult, so it's a good idea to stay off the roads tonight and tomorrow morning. If you must get out, check road conditions before you head out.

The mountains will get some more snow behind this system on Friday/Friday night.
