2014 Depth Chart Predictions

Young players in both lines will make for scary season yet again. Of course could they be any worse than the two TN had?

That excuse will not fly with me next year. Dooley, as bad as he was, got us to a bowl game with true freshmen on the o line in 2010. It is not like the starters for next year will be true Freshmen on the o line. The D line has been average for a while now and I welcome some new blood along with JUCOs that can contribute immediately.

After Alabama's historic loss Saturday, do you think they will go after Butch in the offseason? If that happens, any chance we take the risk and try and hire Saban? Go Vols!
Ps Mods feel free to start new thread if necessary.
this may be the funniest thing i've read on here in years

Pig will be in the slot next year.

Pig absolutely must work on his hands as do a few of the other kids. Looking for the local kid, Smith is his name i believe, to be the most improved reciever on the team. Excellent speed and quickness who had no problem getting separation just did not catch the ball. Pride will carry him thru the offseason programs and we will see a different player come next season. IMO !

If Jones can add to this class and keep it at #2 and then land another top 5 class we should be in good shape for 2015.

Of course it depends on how the talent and system actually work out.

i agree with you and hopefully CBJ will be able to red shirt some players, but who knows about that,it does seem like a all hands on deck type of year,if you can play, you will

if the Vols have a decent year it will help in recruiting, getting stud players in,is what is going to make or break CBJ and company,it does look like they can get the talent here

This is pretty close to my guess. With DY and Pig in slot. I think DY gets more playing time this year. Also Worley starts with Dobbs or Ferguson 2nd.

Ferguson just might be the starter. He is a winner and has the best arm. Look at the film and you will see that he will be the leader.

Linebacker looks to be an interesting and exciting position next year. Hopefully Maggitt will be healthy enough to start practicing and be game ready come next fall.

AJ Johnson returning, and some options to fill the final spot (which is something we haven't had the luxury of for a few years now). Reeves-Maybin, Weatherd, or the possibility of some of our freshman stepping up gives us some depth and some options moving forward.

We should finally have some time to develop our talent before throwing them into the fire.

Do you think Dobbs will redshirt if he doesn't win the starter job?

Not if Ferguson becomes the starter.... a redshirt would then make them the same year. He'd take the "redshirt" technically if he did not play and probably transfer at the end of the year.

QB is a humongous need in the 2015 class.

Surely Maggitt will be ready to go by spring practice. He was "day-to-day" all through October - right up to the point they decided to RS him.

I think the bolded names redshirt, I just included them to fill out the depth chart. I think we get Evans at DT and he will be ready to play. Also, the last 2 3rd team DE spots are shots in the dark, really could go to any of the freshmen or RS freshmen.

Malone will get more snaps than Creamer this year IMO. Not sure if you meant to switch those two or if you really think Creamer will start

This is just about a decent SEC level team, albeit young.
We don't lose much after this season; really Lane, AJ, and Coleman will be the biggest losses.

We will have another smaller class, but good next year. We have a ton of DBs to more than make up for Coleman. Jakob will replace AJ, and Cecil Cherry will be a very good backup, and Mouhon and Bryant are possibilities. We will have Hurd, Paulk, Pickett, perhaps Scott and any recruits for next year at TB. All of these freshmen will get a lot of PT this year as well.

The following year we will have a legit 85 scholarship players and most will be upper classmen, and the recruits for next year look good. Preston Williams will be ready from day 1. Our WRs could be North, Malone, Pearson, if he doesn't turn pro, Creamer, Croom, Jenkins, Howard, P Williams, with Helm and Wolfe at TE. I would bet that Ferguson or Dobbs, or Peterman will look very good with that offense and the whole o line returning.

It's called having an opinion and sometimes not having one. I also think the Tasmanian Tiger isn't extinct, that a very few roam furtively in the Australian Outback. I also think Jim Cheek is an alien chipmunk who mistakes boogers for nuts. Just my opinions.

Seriously, I think we will have so much talent, Butch may have a problem deciding which player makers to field without hurting someone's ego.
