Dont agree at all, while it will be nice to pull in a good class, you cant honestly expect him to make up and entire season of recruiting in a month or two, give the man a break. Im expecting a big 2014 signing class though

Disagree.

I think he has to show some real upswing this class to give confidence he is going to compete against Saban, Miles, Richt next year.

I don't expect Top Five this year. I think though without a Top Ten this year, he's not going to compete next year with the big dogs of the SEC.

It all starts with recruiting. If he can't compete with those guys on the recruiting trail, then why did we hire him?

Are Barnes and Goeass not longer committed? Rivals still list them as UT commits. I would hope we can find a couple LBs more in Demand then these guys!

I think it's only a matter of time until we hear that Chauntez Jackson and UT have parted ways.

The Butch Jones era of UT football is upon us. Below is a list of the current commits and some of our top targets (I tried to compile a comprehensive list but am sure some names were omitted and many new names will surface). We currently have 14 spots filled, but I expect there to be major shakeups in the current commits and new targets. If you hear of any new names, let me know, and I will update the original post. Should be a fun two months.

Current Commits - Offense (7)
QB - Riley Ferguson
WR - Josh Smith
WR - Paul Harris (EE)
OL - Austin Sanders
OL - Brett Kendrick
OL - Dan Skipper

DE - Jason Carr
DE - Joe Sanders
LB - Corey Vereen (EE)

DB - Jalen Reeves-Maybin (EE)

Top Defensive Targets
DT - Lavon Hooks (JUCO)
DT - Rod Crayton
DT - Derrick Calloway
DE - Davin Bellamy (FSU commit)

I could be wrong but I believe we are recruiting Nate Andrews as a Safety and not a WR.

Hey guys and for the OP. I am intrigued by a lot of this recruiting so first off, I really enjoy these Recruiting Forums.

But I have a suggestion...and maybe it's only beneficial for me, but for all the current targets and/or commits.. Can you state whether the offer came from DD (any one from old staff) or CBJ(any current staff...this includes J. Graham.)

I think this will give some insight on what type of players CBJ is going after and whether or not CBJ's staff will be able to hold this class together.

Thanks!

Is it possible to add the rating or number of stars to each player for those who are not deep into the world of recruiting?

But...but..I thought Dooley said this was year zero?

And next year is year 0.5.

So, I look for big things from CBJ's third year class. :)

I seriously doubt that a first year coach introducing a new system will compete with Saban and the like, regardless of the first class he signs. Schedule is tough next season. Don't get your hopes up. I do expect to see progress with Jones, rather than the regression Dooley showed.

A lot of new coaches can make that kind of splash at a program like Tennessee. And Butch HAS to show some flash in recruiting this year. He can't afford not to.

There is no doubt CBJ >> Derek "Shower and Hair Discipline" Dooley. However, that means that CBJ could have won his eight games with the 2012 squad.

He's going to have to recruit much better than Dooley to squeeze out more wins.

Von Bell is down to three schools...Ala..TN...and OSU

I think it's evident how bad Bell wants to be a Vol... We're still in the Top 3 despite our previous few seasons, and the other two (Ala and OSU) coaches were sitting in VB's parents' laps at his game. This should be a lock, just need CBJ to convince him that he has a winning philosophy.

someone correct me if i am wrong but i believe he was recruited by dools and gang to be that speed rushing LB coming off the edge in a 3-4 - kind of a specialist

if that is the case he is likely just looking around/making sure the new staff thinks they can use his abilities in the scheme they will be running
