Lawson had 78.5 tackles, 19.5 TFL, 11.5 sacks, 4 fumble recoveries and 4 pass breakups last year. He played 8 games last year at DT and 4 at DE.

Lawson plays the tackle spots on both lines for North Augusta, as well as defensive end. Most colleges are recruiting him for somewhere on the defensive line. Where he ends up depends on how much weight his frame can hold while maintaining his quickness.

“He’s going to be a big kid. He’s going to be 285 easy,” Thomas said. “He’s long and he’s athletic. Any time you’ve got height like he’s got, athleticism like he’s got, the college coaches really like that. I told him the day I got here that his height was going to get him looks and the rest of it was going to be up to him.”

"Tre Lawson, DL, North Augusta (S.C.) High School - This could end up being the biggest commitment of the entire Orange Carpet event. He's an X-factor in this class. We've not seen a lot of Lawson in person at 247Sports so there's some unknown involved here but the kid is massive, he's long and he's very active and athletic on film. In a year that Tennessee needs to add some depth on the defensive front, is this a guy that can kick inside long term? He shows the ability to play there on film. We've got Lawson ranked higher than the industry and in the SEC, you win with big, athletic defensive lineman. Lawson looks like he's that."

SC fans were foaming at the mouth for this kid.

FSU, Ole Miss, UGA, SC commitable offers.

That's Lawning, Kirby, Kiffin and Muschamp.

Some pretty good Dline talent evaluators.

If you are ranking a kids college potential without taking a full year of football into account, expecially a 17/18 year old that can have a wide range of development it very much is a shot in the dark.

That's why rankings are updated.

Yep thats why rankings are a shot in the dark right now.

It sounds like you're trying to apologize for Butch when you say this.

Don't look at rankings, look at offer lists. Based on that, everyone should be mostly satisfied with yesterday.
