They've been on me every other day and I'm really starting to like Tennessee and I like how coach Jones is turing around Tennessee with his recruiting so that's what has attracted me to Knoxville."
"I was on my West Coast tour and on my way home and I told coach Azzanni that I would be putting Notre Dame in my top five and that I appreciated all that they were doing but I was just going to go that way," Newsome explained. "He asked me if I was committing and I told him no and he said, 'We're going to keep coming after you.' So, after they told me that, I respected that and it made me feel comforted because it made me know they really want me there and that he really loves me as a person and I've really gotten to know him well and we have a really good relationship with each other as we've gotten to know each other over the last few months."
"I'm extremely excited just because I've heard it gets crazy in Knoxville as far as the atmosphere and things like that," Newsome said. "Even coach Tee Martin from USC, he went to Tennessee, he was telling me the atmosphere was crazy down there. I can't wait to get down there and see everything. They have been recruiting me hard and they have made me a priority for their program."
"They have told me that no matter who they get they will take me if I decide to go there just because they want me that bad. And, the fan base is crazy. I love the energy the bring. I can't wait to get up there."
Are any of the schools in your Top 5 recruiting you harder than the others?
Now that its a top 5, theyre all equally recruiting me as hard as the next college. Tennessee came in kind of late, so I had to replace Notre Dame with them because they were recruiting me so hard. UCLA is a great school. Jim Mora really turned the program around the last 2 years. With Texas, Coach Strong is trying to get that program back on top. Oklahoma is hot with their win over Alabama and are going to be a top 3 team this year. All of the schools are going in a positive direction, so nobody is really leading and are neck and neck with each other.
