'14 AL RB Racean Thomas

That is why Saban is stressing it this year because how many flips and/or almost that caused the staff to have use valuable resources on players supposedly committed and still enjoying the process last year.

The staff wants Thomas and he knows it, but like you said these kids need to enjoy it and have their fun. They deserve it and I think coaching staffs are saying go ahead and when you are 100% come talk to us about committing. This time last year UA had already gotten a handful of commits from all the jr days and this year none and most have said the staff wants them at camp and to be 100%.

So the Bama staff will only take your commitment if you are 100% committed. It's too bad this "100% commitment" only applies to the high school players and not the coaches.

It doesn't apply to their 5th year seniors when saint nick needs scholarships for his constant over recruiting. Medical hardships? Career ending? Just be thankful ole saint Nicky let you ride his pine, men.

I hate to say it because im a big Rock Thomas fan but he has been told to hold off his commit and my info isnt coming from the coaches, its coming from people close to him right here in Oxford.

How many times do a coach pull a committed recruit scholarship compared to a committed recruit decommitting or flipping to another school? its not even close, these kids change like the weather. Im also a firm believer regardless of the school that a athletic scholarship should be earned each year like a academic scholarship.

Just like Bear did and what Coach Dodd did not want the SEC doing. It is all about football and the heck with the promised education you are suppose to be giving these kids. It is because it is football. It is not college football anymore. Kids who think only NFL is their problem because so many will never make it. Coaches who don't give a crap about the kid and his education. They just care if they can do it on the field.
Bama BS and always will be Bama BS. The big problem is it is now so rampant in all of football for kids who go to college as long as they are still doing it on the field.

High school players have the right to flip since they are being recruited by multiple schools. A public commitment means nothing.

A coach comes accross as an a-hole for pulling a scholly to make room for other players. There are valid reasons to pull schollys, roster management is not a valid reason IMO.

Thats the thing, there shouldnt be a promised education for 4 years, its should be earned just like the other kids who have to work there a$$ off to keep their scholarship. I dont wont to here the crap about football bringing money into the school because these kids that havent played in 4 years but get a free ride havent contributed to any. Its still sending a bad message to the kids not playing sport. Its telling them that they will have to earn their scholarship every year because they are not an asset like football players.

The kids excessive flipping is not a good thing. Most people seem to agree.

These coaches also have pressure to win and their livelihood is on the line. So they should be able to give scholarships to kids that continue to earn it. In the real world if dont pull your weight at work there is a great chance you will be replace regardless of age. Just because you are an athlete doesnt mean you should get a pass.

Who cares what people think. These kids have to decide on what they believe is best for their future. They should not give a damn about what people think.

The coaches should be held responsible for the players they recruit.

Before you go off the deep end and concern yourself with education why don't you blast the NCAA for lowering the standard so low just to get these kids on the football field. Maybe you have not heard of the current sliding scale.

To bad thousands of students each year who actually work their but off in the classroom while in HS and have no athletic ability whatsoever but blow the sliding scale out of the water yet can not get in. But you seem to think it is alright that these so called student athletes should get a free education that many did not deserve if we are truly basing it on them being a student first.

But you seem naive enough to believe these football recruits are students first football players second. Sort of sad you defending a system that all it requires is for your HS coach to get in you in the right classes to stay qualified in HS and then all you have to do is write your name when you sit for the SAT or ACT then leave and qualify for college.

These kids are setup for failure in the class room long before they ever arrive at school.

So CMR should be held accountable for every player at UGA that did something stupid and got arrested?

The sad part are fans who whine about what Saban does but if he was at your school would defend it because in the end if your team is winning or the coach is turning the program around the fans ignore all the questionable acts by the coaching staff. And before you tell me how wrong I am let me start opening up all the threads about how great Kiffin was when he was at UT and boasting about all his methods.:hi:

Absolutely, 100% he should.

You should take a hit on your scholly numbers if a kid gets himself in trouble. You don't oversign and then make up for it by having some attrition between Feb. and August.
