Pat-and-go session focused on back-shoulder fade routes for wide receivers, with tight ends doing their usual work in the seam. Jauan Jennings had a couple good reps during the drill. Quarterbacks were decent in this session, but Josh Dobbs definitely has had more effective days throwing to his targets. No one at the quarterback position is as consistent in the "throw game" as coaches would like to see right now.

-Von Pearson not at practice.
-Quay Picou practiced in helmet and jersey due to NCAA rules for heat acclimation

-- Fifth-year senior defensive tackle Trevarris Saulsberry, who has dealt with several knee injuries throughout his career, was held out of practice for the second consecutive day. He wore a jersey and uniform pants, but no helmet or pads.

QUICK HITTERS: Freshman Jauan Jennings still looks a bit raw during his quarterback-to-receiver transition, but he’s clearly a good athlete with good hands and know how to go up and high point the ball. There’s plenty of work to do there, but there’s also plenty of raw ability. … It looks like junior middle linebacker Kenny Bynum is still the first-team middle linebacker, and we haven’t noticed any other changes in the first-team defense. Sophomore Rashaan Gaulden is still the first-team nickel, and junior Cameron Sutton and sophomore Emmanuel Moseley are still the first-team corners, and seniors Brian Randolph and LaDarrell McNeil are still the first-team safeties. …

JONES: I did not see the maturity or leadership we need to play championship football today. It's a teaching opportunity.
JONES: We tried Jakob Johnson at tight end to get a little more competition there.
JONES: We challenged our team today. We have good kids that work exceptionally hard.
JONES: We reinstated Von Pearson. He will work out with the team tomorrow as he goes through the acclimation period.
JONES: We sat down with Von today and will continue to have conversations with him before practice tomorrow.
JONES: Von is going to have to get in shape and earn his way back into a position.
JONES: Jennings and Maone have done a great job of working hard at the position.
JONES: Kyler Kerbyson has done a good job and played with consistency.
JONES: Jakob said he loved this team and would do whatever it took to help the team win.
JONES: We are very youthful but very talented at linebacker. When you look at the teams we play, we need versatility at the position.
JONES: North has worked really hard. He's very hard on himself, it's great to have him back out here.

They won't rush him back and risk injury. He's probably been working out but not at the level the team has. Give him a couple days to get acclimated IMO.
