Tyndall’s Vols begin hoops practice (short video)

First-year Tennessee basketball coach Donnie Tyndall and the Vols officially began practice on Sunday.

“I thought guys gave good effort today–the energy level was good as practice wore on,” Tyndall said. “I thought fatigue hit our team a little bit. But for the most part, we tried to fight through it. Our attention to detail certainly needs to improve, but I was happy with our first day in regard to their energy and effort.”

Senior guard Josh Richardson said his career at Tennessee has gone by in a flash.

“It’s hard to believe, but it’s reality,” Richardson said. “We have to get it in gear now and make a lot of progress these next few weeks.”

Tennessee is picked to finish between 10th and 14th in the Southeastern Conference by the various preseason magazines: Blue Ribbon (10th), Lindy’s (10th), Athlon (11th), Sporting News (14th).

Tennessee’s first official game is on November 14th against VCU at The Veterans Classic at the U.S. Naval Academy.
