Zimmerman Trial

Good point. However, his one punch leads to death comment could be a slippery slope.

Just start shooting people every time you get hit because you read a story once where a drunk guy died after hitting his head on a curb.

Slippery slope is a logical fallacy. Have you taken any public speaking classes in your life?

So this guy must be a white-black. . .

Have you watched any news at all lately? And what the hell does it matter if I know anyone personally that has? Just because I don't know people killed by one punch doesn't magically make it not happen. What a childish argument.

If someone is on top of you displaying intent to hit you, that's a dangerous situation. Most people would be pretty scared for their lives.

Did I say it has never happened?

But simply being in a fight doesn't in my mind mean you are in harm of being killed. Certainly every situation is different and maybe Zimmerman did feel his life is in danger. The guy looks like a total doofus so it's not surprising he was getting his tail whipped.

The childish argument would be thinking every fight leads to a death and the need to use a gun.

I don't buy this because you're literally trying to use a fallacy in your "argument".

Oh god, it's an expression. Lighten up.

And you are trying to use 4 examples to bolster yours.

I have never known anybody to be in a fight who feared for their life.

Assuming no weapons were involved. I even had a friend get in a fight with tank abbot and get absolutely destroyed and he never felt fearful for his life.

I don't know. I see your point, just don't really agree.

Obviously there is middle ground but it would probably do more damage to those who believe in the 2nd amendment.

Maybe that's why you shouldn't judge based on one picture Einstein.

Oh god. I saw all the pictures.

None of the pictures are that bad. However, who am I to decide that he wasn't in fear for his life. Nobody was there so only person who knows was Zimmerman.

My point was the people acting as if he got his face bashed in. He was losing a fight. His nose was messed up. Back of the head was cut. He got scared and shot the dude.

But that picture doesn't really bolster the feared for his life argument.

If someone said, "you're going to die tonight" while slamming the back of your head onto concrete, you wouldn't be concerned with your mortality? That was the game changer. Trayvon wasn't simply beating the guy up, he was trying to kill him at that point.

That's a great point. Wasn't aware that was said.

That could certainly scare you to reacting more violently.

If trayvon hadn't done that, there probably wouldn't be support for Zimmerman. Simply getting your nose broken isn't grounds for lethal self defense.

He is entitled to his opinion even if I disagree with it. I am no saying he shouldn't have been in fear for his life I have no idea what was going on.

My point was more to people who have shown that photo as a sign he was being viciously attacked. That particular photo wasn't that bad.

Do you see the difference?
