Zimmerman Trial

Well, it wasn't just tough talk. He described previous fights he had been in and talked about wanting to get into more. He was on his 3rd school suspension. You have to be purposely ignoring facts to believe Trayvon didn't like fighting.

You are drawing conclusions now.

They are both morons in my book.

If I see a black guy with a hoodie, his pants hanging off his ass, flashing gang signs, wearting a sideways hat with the sticker on it, smoking weed etc etc i see that as a thug. If I see a white guy doing it he's just as stupid & goofy ass looking as the black guy.

Yes I agree. I tried that whole look in the 8th grade, my mama damn near beat the black off of me!!

I think Trayvon, like most 17 year olds, thought he was invincible. He saw someone watching him and got mad. He decided to fight which isn't that surprising to me. I knew plenty of people at that age that probably would have done the same thing. It doesn't make it right though and we should use Trayvon's death as a lesson for our children that violence isn't the answer - that when you fight someone you don't know, you always run the risk of either getting killed or killing the other person. It is tragic what happened, but we cant ignore the evidence.

Come on now we all have white trash moments, even me...... Lol I'm just joking with ya homie.

And if I were to follow white trash or a thug because they were acting suspicious, I wouldn't expect to later be charged with a hate crime.

Now if you beat someone to death for being gay, black, white, or whatever else....that's a hate crime.

Lol.

Personally. I take no offense to being called a redneck. Just means I can fix stuff with duct tape and baling wire. My friend earl considers himself a redneck. Dips snuff. Wears boots. Rides horses. Oh and he's a brother. Sometimes I think he forgets.
:)

Incorrect. The Federal government can charge GZ under a hate crime or civil rights statute. Different jurisdiction = no double jeopardy. That's how a couple of the Rodney King cops got jail time after being acquited in LA.

I don't see the hate crime thing going anywhere, the prosecutions witness testified that TM referred to GZ has a "cracker".

Hate crime is ridiculous.

I would assume there is going to be a civil suit though.

Can't. Something in Florida law says if you are found not guilty in a criminal litigation, the civil suit can't go forward since you've already been cleared of wrongdoing.

I'm sure one of our legal beagles on here can elaborate further.

Well, I was going to start this out with "Gentlemen:" but somehow that doesn't entirely ring true as intellectually honest. At any rate, there were several around me that desired to know why I felt so strongly about the Zimmerman case. I had to step back and think about it to get oriented, but here is my conclusion. FIRST, I am extremely concerned about the future of our great country. The primary reason is that we are moving away from a citizenry of self-sufficient, industrious individuals that give a damn about future generations to a citizenry of lazy, lost, confused individuals that know only how to work the system and not how to work, and they have no concern for the well-being of their grandchildren. No strategic view or concern about the direction this country is heading. Further, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that our government can't keep spending and borrowing without the ability to repay. At some point, the bill will become payable and I am totally pissed that my grandchildren are going to have to deal with it. What kind of miserable legacy is that to leave our progeny? As each month passes, I get more ill about it. SECOND, in conjunction with the forgoing, the government - both state and federal - is reaching further into our public and private lives through ever-increasing rules, regulations and statutes. This dragnet of forced compliance is becoming more onerous as time passes and it is already too much of a pain in the azz to run certain businesses because of all the extra work, forms, and COMPLIANCE that is demanded by the gov. It's getting harder to make a buck and keep that buck - and it is a cancer that has metasticized and shackled the very business capitalism that built this country. This is a very bad thing and it does not appear to be going away. THIRD, where can we turn, as citizens, for safety from this government hyrdra run amuk? Traditionally, our courts. Our judicial system, while imperfect - as we all are imperfect - has at least dealt setbacks to gov. overreaching and occasionally set up barriers to protect our lives, our liberty and our pursuit of happiness. And our court system is the last vestige of civilized society before the populace begins to seek redress through revolution.
So I was extremely concerned about the Zimmerman case. I saw a prosecutor who bypassed the citizen grand jury and charged Mr. Zimmerman based upon her own politically motivated affidavit - an affidavit that I reviewed and concluded couldn't stand up to logical and rational scrutiny. Then, I saw the trial itself - I saw the weakness of the prosecution's case and became more and more convinced that this was an absolute farce of a proceeding - a farce in a public courtroom. (And I might add here that Angela Corey didn't have the nuts to try this case. What a big, greasy PUZZY. She tried to insulate herself by have two white dudes to do the dirty work and try to make chicken salad out of chicken $hit). Then we hear about the prosecution hiding information from the defense team, the DOJ sending down workers to help organize anti-Zimmerman protests, policemen and IT guys who didn't toe the party line getting demoted and fired, etc., etc., etc..... On top of all of that, we have that loud mouth $#$%sucker Al Sharpton blasting out ridiculous statements that have no support in fact or evidence, along with MSNBC and others continually misrepresenting the facts in order to incite division within this country. Ever heard of "united we stand, divided we fall?" That's what they want. That's what I don't want.
Hence, I was worried that the jury of citizens in this case would submit to government and left-wing pressure. Like the presiding judge. But they didn't. And that is quite refreshing.
So THAT is why I followed the Zimmerman case so closely.

Someone needs to investigate the prosecution to see if they received money from the #nra to blow this #zimmermantrial.

Great one from twitter

It's exactly what white males have to fear nowadays. Reverse racism is at an abundance nowadays.

That is why so many people are licensed to C & C. They are not going to worry about a racially motivated court case if their lives depend upon it.

Oh you must have forgotten that the Obama administration & the DOJ can change laws at anytime now & I'm sure that they will find a way to change this Florida law to pursue this case even further.

Professor Nano,
You make a lot if great of points. If the defense had withheld information, America would have collectively called for their heads.

I truly don't think our nations issues are fixable either, and most of it stems from slavery. Just like our founding fathers predicted this one issue is destroying our nation.

We allow people to live off the government almost as a form of reparations, because no matter how rational of an argument it is to decrease welfare spending....when that argument is made, it instantly gets spun into a race issue. Even though more whites are on welfare (overall, not porportionally).

Drug laws that are bogging down our justice system are all based on outdated and ignorant racist viewpoints.

And now if they can bring hate crime charges on GZ we will set a new precedent that any crime against a black person is automatically a hate crime, regardless of the intent or nature of the crime.

Muggers are 0 fer 2 with me. I'm not going to back down on them. If you put your finger on the barrel, the gun is an explosive because of the back up pressure. That's the only way you will stand. Street crime makes me want to be a vigilante. Crime is just going to get worse.

I've just been lurking in this thread and then I saw this little gem. I hope this guy is trying to be funny and I just didn't get the joke.

I agree with that. Do you think TM felt threatened himself and went into defense mode?

Very possible. I would say he may have been doing some profiling of his own on GZ. He saw a short haired fat dude he thought he could take. He was a fighter and all. Another notch on his belt for beating a guy who was bigger than he. Mo street cred.

I have no idea really. Whatever his reason was, it was definitely a dumb move to come at someone you don't know may be packing.

We know already that he profiled GZ. He referred to him as a "cracka ass rapist".
