bull, the frontal cortex does not develop fully in males until the early 20s. he may have passed puberty and had some muscles, but he acted and made juvenile decisions, like a kid. this is what most people can't see and where GZ failed as a man. a man can assess a situation, make clear rational decisions based on the facts and act in a logical way. when trayvon was presented with a clear option of going home or attacking, he attacked and got shot. that was a juvenile decision that got him killed. GZ, the only man in this situation could have done a number of things differently to handle the situation better and probaly end it with both people alive and unharmed. instead, he assumed, as many on this board do, that trayvon was a man who would make mature, logical decisions. that assumption led him to being surprized and having to defend his life. yes, in the end it was self defense but he failed in his duty as a man dealing with a kid.

That being the case, he shouldn't be left to roam the streets alone at night. Given he is the simpleton you made him. Might as well put the absentee parents on trial.

Regardless of the stage of development of Martin's frontal cortex, what he did was still assault, and what Zimmerman did was still self defense. Obviously Zimmerman made mistakes leading up to the gun shot, but the shot itself was legal and necessary.

Incorrect. The Federal government can charge GZ under a hate crime or civil rights statute. Different jurisdiction = no double jeopardy. That's how a couple of the Rodney King cops got jail time after being acquited in LA.

They never closed that investigation. Probably waiting for the result of the State trial. Had Zimmerman bern convicted, the Feds would have left well enough alone. With an acquital in FL? Who knows?

If Trayvon had lived you think he would have been charged as an adult?

He was not a child. He was not a kid. He was a young man that made a stupid decision.

If I'm TM being followed in a strange neighborhood, I'm putting distance between my follower, not confronting him. He had that option as well as calling the police himself.

I think he saw an opportunity to fight, got mad he was being watched, and jumped Zimmerman. Read his texts, he actually talked about wanting to do this to someone. I knew people that loved to fight when I was younger. They would jump at any chance to get into a scuffle and I think that's probably what Trayvon did here.

I don't understand what civil rights charges could be filed against Zimmerman.

NAACP is trying to make this out like the lynching of Emmet Till, but I honestly think if Martin had been a white kid in a stained wife beater and saggy pants with a neck tatt he would have been profiled in much the same way. This had more to do with attire than race IMO.

I know some of y'all are calling him a thug. A good friend of mine who happens to be white told me that him and his buddy's drank more whiskey, smoked more dope, robbed folks, fought like cats and dogs just all types of crazy ish and he never got called a thug. But they did get called stupid ass rednecks. Kids of all races get into crap they shouldn't get into. I imagine all of us on this board has got into some mess we wasn't suppose to At one time in our lives. Does that make us thugs? No.

For the record I'm not making a race issue but 9 times out of 10 when a young black male gets into mess he's labeled a thug.

Well, it wasn't just tough talk. He described previous fights he had been in and talked about wanting to get into more. He was on his 3rd school suspension. You have to be purposely ignoring facts to believe Trayvon didn't like fighting.

If I see a black guy with a hoodie, his pants hanging off his ass, flashing gang signs, wearting a sideways hat with the sticker on it, smoking weed etc etc i see that as a thug. If I see a white guy doing it he's just as stupid & goofy ass looking as the black guy.
