Zimmerman Trial

I can understand the verdict, but I strongly believe the law needs to be fixed. It is legal in Florida to stalk innocent people until they confront you, then kill them in self defense. Sad day in America.

Yep. Go cry in a corner.

NAACP says they will pursue civil rights charges through the DOJ.

GZ will die a broke man.

The facts are this.

Zimmerman did nothing illegal by following Trayvon Martin.

The evidence backed Zimmerman's claim that Trayvon attacked HIM

There was no evidence that Zimmerman was ever the aggressor, his injuries clearly show he was in a defensive position.

Trayvon's gun shot wound was consistent with Zimmerman's story that he show Trayvon when Trayvon was on top of him, slamming his head into the concrete.

The truth is a country rushed to judgement without looking at the evidence. The jury looked at all sides and recognized that Zimmerman did not commit murder or manslaughter but was defending himself. It is sad that Zimmerman was put through so much and will have to go through life being called a murderer when clearly he is not.

That being said, it is also sad that a young man lost his life, but he never should have attacked an armed man in the first place.

Well, yea. Ideally, use a knife.

In any event, the death of Zimmerman at the hands of a vigilante furthers both my inherent desire for Zimmerman's fate and my anti-gun desires. Gives me a prominent shouting point.

actually, it merely shows you to be a bigger gun-grabbing idiot than LG

One more positive thing I've taken from tonight is the ever so eloquent people on twitter don't want to move to Florida because of our SYG law. I count that as a win.

People that are booming and happy about the verdict are weirdos. Regardless if he was guilty of a crime or not a 17 yr old is dead and no booming is warranted.

Let's keep the whole racial issue out of this people. Literally should have nothing to do with it.

Someone lost their son, and they no longer have him because he was shot and killed by another human.

Whether or not you believe that human deserves any sort of punishment for what he did - is up to you. Today the court said he should walk free, and I completely disagree from a moral standpoint.

They never proved that he "stalked" him either. Even if he did "follow" him, I don't think that warrants TM attacking him.

So in your opinion, I as a woman. If I killed a man who attacked me, I then should be convicted of murder? From a moral standpoint of course.

That's my thing. If Zimmerman was "following" him why didn't Trayvon just say "Hey why the hell are you following me?"

Why instead immediately resort to bashing his head against the concrete?

It was about race from the get go for 99% of America

A 17 yr old died 18 months ago. I'm happy because 6 people saw that there was no evidence against this man, and they didn't reach a decision based on the emotional outcry of the public.

So your morals consist of being able to go around & beat the s*** out if people you "think" is following you while you yourself does drugs, flash gang signs, swaps guns with parents, etc etc. It is a tragic situation that could have been avoided on both sides but it is what it is. Concealed weapon permits are available for a reason.
