I agree with your take. He was able to start 4 years. 4 years maybe 5 should be the college experience and limit playing for RS already puts a box around allowable eligibility.Yeah, won’t be a popular take on here but agreed. Love Z but it’s time to move on and let new blood take over. Tired of these kids who refuse to move on and keep taking opportunities from young players.
Anyone who disagrees me would think the exact same thing if it was a player from any other program.
It's wild. It's like wishing we couldn't have had Hendon Hooker for another year. The amount of posts that I’ve seen wanting Z to move on is crazy. One of, if not the best PG Tennessee has ever had. Back to back SEC defensive player of the year and we just want him to move on? It would be a really easy decision to bring him back if he somehow gets a waiver
My post to move on was more directed to the fact that he lost his legal challenge so its time to quit appealing and move on with his life, a 5th yr is not going to happen. Not that I wouldn't be happy to have him back. The amount of posts that I’ve seen wanting Z to move on is crazy. One of, if not the best PG Tennessee has ever had. Makes me really wonder if some these posters are true VFL….The amount of posts that I’ve seen wanting Z to move on is crazy. One of, if not the best PG Tennessee has ever had. You cant be serious? Chaz and Stute both had a covid year ZZ was the year after all that. The situations are very different. ZZ played basically 4 full years his injury happened at the end of a season so he only missed the offseason. ZZ has no case unless you just now say players cna play as much as they want to in perpetuity. That is the floodgate his case would open. Had ZZ got hurt early in a season or even midseason he might have a case but he is well outside the bounds of any medical claims. Why did Chaz Lanier have a case but Zeigler doesn’t? Why does Myles Stute have a case but Zeigler doesn’t? Why did thousands of players get. 5th year but Zeigler shouldn’t? What if a 5th year gets passed as expected starting for next years class, every class will have gotten 5 years except Zeigler’s, that wouldn’t be a case?
All players are about to be granted 5 to play 5. ZZ's individual case isn't going to open pandora's box - he's just trying to get on the train that's already left the station. I'm sure we'll see guys sue for 6th+ years after the 5 to play 5 goes into effect, and that will be interesting to follow. You cant be serious? As much as any fan of UT (including me) wants him coming back, it would set a terrible legal precedent and open floodgates you dont want. NCAA basketball would become really the G-league as a number of players would stay in college extra years instead of going to G-League because NIL possibilities are better in college sports than there. Eating up schollies for younger 4 year type guys. It would affect other sports also because once the floodgates open... It's bad. There is no case period outside of some crazy loophole we dont want opened..
You missed the point and also dodged the 5th year part of my post, that everyone expects to pass for the next years class, thus giving the previous 4 classes 5 years and each class going forward except for Zeigler’s a 5th year as well. Also, Stute already used his COVID year, he’s now getting a waiver to play another year because he missed some games due to injury in his career, even though he missed more games than the allowed amount to receive a medical redshirt. So he’s already played in more career games than Zeigler, played 5 years, and is now getting a 6th year due to an injury even though he didn’t qualify for a medical redshirt. You cant be serious? Is this not a discussion board for sharing opinions? Something you disagree with does not immediately make it misguided and your little sassy quips aren’t always needed. He didn’t make a point. He stated his personal opinion. He personally does not want players to play five years. Swell. They won’t be consulting him on the matter.
ZZs case is making a different argument.
