Yeah, won’t be a popular take on here but agreed. Love Z but it’s time to move on and let new blood take over. Tired of these kids who refuse to move on and keep taking opportunities from young players.

Anyone who disagrees me would think the exact same thing if it was a player from any other program.

I've been saying in the football forum that if the NCAA wants to combat out of control NIL they need to lift all eligibility rules. let them play as long as they want.

This would kill the whole sport, not just college football. High school, college, and the NFL all depend on college football being transitory. Players need to play a short time and then move on to the NFL or be done in order for spots to open up for high school players. If college players can play forever, that gums up the pipeline to the NFL and other pro leagues, and DRAMATICALLY reduces the amount of openings for high school graduates to fill. With an extremely small chance of playing college ball, less players will even play high school football.

The NCAA and government, if necessary, needs to draw a hard line at 4 years and keep it that way from now on. A once in a generation pandemic event threw things off for a 5 year period, that's over now, and it's time to get back to normal.

100% true. People just want to see Zeigler play again to make our team better for one season. I don't want to see that at the expense of blowing up the college game. His appeal needs to be denied, and they also need to deny the 5th year blanket rule.

The 5th year rule is going to pass either way, likely just in the fall now. All this does is lower our chances at having ZZ and Gainey on this year's roster

5th year blanket rule is happening. It will also put an end to cases like this one, so I don’t see why anyone who wants ZZ’s case denied would be against the blanket 5th year rule. Seems people don’t understand what they’re arguing for on this topic.

What is not clear? I don’t want anyone to play five years anymore and all the Covid gift years and waivers need to be over and phased out. Players need to move on through again and not hang out forever. Covid caused a 5 year chaos window and it’s time to rein it in.

That’s a misguided take.

Anyone mad about a kid getting an extra year to play college ball and have a shot at a masters degree is just sad. Some of these cases are giving kids 7 years to play and some mad about a blanket rule. This rule would just be a flat you get 5 years to play and will make things clearer for everyone.

People were playing 5+ years before Covid, for various reasons, it was just less frequent. The 5 year rule would take all variance out of the eligibility issue, which seems to be exact idea you are claiming to champion.
