Zach Rogers

I'm not arguing that Hunter doesn't have great hands. He does. That's a fact. I think DR does as well though. I don't think ZR should even be in the conversation when it comes to being compared to DR. Zach cannot catch balls in traffic, nor is he going to go up and grab a ball (two things DR can do because he has great hands). Despite what you're saying, one of DR's strong suits are his hands. He has big strong hands. That's why he's been in the mix at KR.

I've seen DaRick make a handful of great catches already this year, and I'm not sure I've seen ZR make one his entire career. He made a decent catch in that Cincinnati game for the TD, but he was all by himself. And he dropped at least two balls right to him in the UF game.

In this order

JH - phenom hands @ All American level
DR - Great hands - tremendous physicality
ZR - Okay hands with not much else like elusiveness or physicality to make up for it.

I really like AA... but all he did vs UF was the short, outlet types of routes when UF was fairly soft in coverage. He'll have to do much more than that.

I haven't seen those great hands catches yet. Sorry. I love the guy and think he has a great future. But if there's an area of his game that still needs to improve its catching the ball with his hands.

Returning kicks has absolutely nothing to do with that.

I may have missed that... I was in a state of disappointed shock for awhile after Hunter got hurt.

Whose pic was it from practice or scrimmage this fall where we made a leaping hands catch over the defender seemingly in the end zone. I thought it was DR.

Why do you do non-sense like that?

NO ONE compared ZR to DM. Someone simply said that guys can overcome hands problems. Moore DID drop alot of passes before his Sr year. He showed very little ability to get open. To that point, he was a fast guy who wasn't very physical.

I'm reminded of D-Mo when thinking of Z-Ro's drops.

Because that's exactly what he did?

Outside of the VT game, I don't recall Moore dropping many passes. He was a bit one dimensional early on(go routes only, etc), but he didn't drop balls if I recall. I could be wrong though.

Nonetheless, he compared the two, and that is silly. Moore didn't get open? He had JC throwing him the ball. You have to get about 10 yards open to have a chance to catch one of his passes.

Moore was a stud as a Junior, and when he got a real QB, he became a stud as a Senior. ZR has two career TD's. Let's not be silly saying he's some great WR who is about to turn the corner.

You will see some now that he's the #1 guy. And while you don't seem to think so, I think his Cincy TD catch was pretty darn impressive, as was his UF TD.

And while KR aren't the same as catching passes, he is the KR guy because of his hands and his physicality. That's a fact. He does not fumble the ball. That means he has good hands.

Anyway, I think we've both made our points. I think we're basically on the same page.

I'd bet Da'Rick has had about 20 times more balls thrown his direction than Z. Rogers and I'd bet Z has more drops. I can only really remember DaRick dropping one ball this year and that was a gimme against Montana.

Hunter is longer and can up higher than DaRick, but I have no idea where you are getting the idea he has much better hands than DaRick.

one ball? Did you watch the florida game?

Of course I did. I don't recall him dropping any passes, but maybe I missed one. All I remember is him being double covered every play and still grabbing a bunch of big catches and a TD.

He's had a few great catches. His hands are good to great for a sophomore, agreed he does not have the hands of JH.

And that might be the thing with ZR. He might be a great practice player and might work really hard, but he just doesn't quite make it happen at game time.

Unfortunately this has beem somewhat the case, but this is Zach's first opportunity to have a starting role. So for everyone's sake, let's hope he starts bring it to the games as well.

That's not totally true. He started a few games last year when DMo and GJ were hurt.

This is true, I meant in the starting two for the remainder of the season. Like you said though, he main lose that spot unless he steps up.

Yeah Im not sure how his first start is going to go he has trouble creating separation in coverage from LBs. With Z. Rogers in we are going to have to totally change the way we play ball. corners are going to now have to double D. Rogers and single up on Z. Rogers so hopefully he can step it up. But based off the starts from last year I doubt it. D. Rogers is going to turn into Alshon Jeffries if we are going to have any deep threats
