Recruiting in '06 is completely different

And no, I only bothered with recruiting for two offseasons so far. It's a really cool set up, I just don't care to do it.

How is it different?

I'll have to go back and play both but '06 is a lot more detailed in recruiting. It feels like a more important part of the game. It keeps you from hitting "auto complete" every offseason.

I don't do that autocomplete crap anyway... the offseason/recruiting is my favorite part of the game. I would just simulate all of the games so I could recruit more often, but the "team goals" are frickin' unrealistic so you gotta play and win almost every game to win the national championship every year, or get fired.

I finally noticed the option to turn off coaching contracts, so I started simulating a dynasty that way, but about 4 or 5 years into it, I all of a sudden had a contract and had to win the National Championship, didn't, only lost 1 game, still got canned.

I love College Football in fact that is the only reason that I bought an XBOX.

For some reason I have a knack for figuring out the computer and still being able to beat it soundly even on Heisman and all the A.I. turned up. I play 6 minute quarters on Heisman with all the A.I. turned up expect for interceptions. (It tends to help a little.)

Though it does tend to be a little unrealstic. Four examples:

1.) The 2003 version (The one with Harrington on the cover) I was leading at Miami (Hurriances) 45-14 at half time. My first six possessions of the second half Miami forced three interceptions and three fumbles all returned for touchdowns. I ended up losing the game 56-52.

2.) The 2006 (This years?) version it was my second year into my Dynasty and I was playing at Arkansas. I could not stop the run and Hillis had 24 carries for 265 yards. I was leading by three with 45 seconds left and Arkansas got two fourth down pass interference calls and Hillis ran it in.

3.) The 2005 (Last Years) version Erik Ainge's career stats: 31,786 yards, 73% completion percentage 418 Touchdowns 27 Interceptions.

4.) This years (2006?) Ainge had 24,587 yards, 72% completion percentage 312 touchdowns and 24 interceptions.

I recently started a Dynasty with Eastern Kentucky University, where I went to school, and I make myself and all my friends and family. I put every one with an overall base talent of 80. It has been really fun so far. I put EKU in the ACC and I am in my second year. I beat an undefeated Purdue team in the Rose Bowl for the National Championship.

Furthermore I just ended my run with Crompton at Quarterback and decided to restart my dynasty with players that should have consistent playing time next year. Karl and Reynolds are my best defenders so far.

Foster is getting 224 yards a game with a little over 10 a carry. (My best run is out of the formation with two tight ends on either side. It calls for a run between the left tackle and left guard. Instead I bounce it out to the outside, you have to have your best blocking wide reciever out there, and you should get huge gains. Switch it up by going to the direct snap out of the shotgun formation and you will get huge gains also. Again have your best blocking wide recievers out there.)
A great play with your running back it out of the strong formation. I believe it is called FB over? The full back gets the ball and cuts behind the line and generally gets huge gains.

Ainge is getting 626 passing yards a game and averaging 8 touchdowns a game. (Safeties come up go deep!) A chump change play is out of the strong. It calls for your wide recievers to go deep, tight tend to run a post and your full back and running back to go five yards and cut out. I have found if you put a wide reciever in at fullback you can get a great mismatch. This is my best audible play.

i just played a season with the Vols and PSU yesterday.

I went undefeated in both and ended up playing Florida in the National Championship in both (akward isnt it)

I was #1 with UT and Florida was 2 with 1 loss (to me) then LSU with 1 loss (also to me) so i ended up playing LSU in the SECCG, winning and had UF in the Natinal Championship.

Bring on 2009.

I just got BCS'd!

Lost a regular season game to Auburn on Heisman 17-14.

Only loss of the year. I've made it to the national championship game before with as many as 2 losses.

But, there were too many other 1 loss teams, and North frickin' Texas* went undefeated. SEC sucked that particular season so my SoS sucked as a result. Ended up #1 in the coaches poll after beating LSU 38-6 in the SECCG. Beat Texas in the Sugar Bowl 42-6.

*Cool thing about this game... not the same teams are good every year. About 10 years into a dynasty, teams like North Texas, Rice, UTEP, and Air Force are national contenders. NT ended up winning the national title that season over Miami.

This past season I had with EKU Army and San Diego State went undefeated.

Gotta love that game!

I played into 2012 with 2 dynasties, never losing, and now Ive started over with UT.

I like to go back and replay the original season.

Gerald Riggs had a huge game with 3 TDS and 34 car. for 303 yards.

Go Vikings!

Kind of a weird note: Portland State is by far the largest University in Oregon. I think it has like 35,000 people while Oregon and Oregon State have around 20,000.

I'm gettin' pretty tired of dominating with Tennessee... even when I play games on Heisman, the score is closer, but I know I can't lose.

Playing in 2015 right now and I've won the NC every year but that one... I may just start simulating the games, let'em fire me, then go build up some other school.

Not bad. Portland State is usually a decent D-IAA team. Also a relatively large capacity stadium in PGE Park (which in real life is a AAA ballpark in Portland).

Aggh, I got tired of that Tennessee dynasty and started another one with a school I created. Put'em in the Big East in place of Temple.

Wanted to try something else different as well, so I play the offense for both teams in every game. Just pause the game and switch users after a change of possession. Pretty fun.

My QB had a sick year last year, completed 67% of his passes for 2900+ yards, 32 TDs, 1 INT, and averaged about 15 yards an attempt. This was using the balanced run playbook, too. Needless to say one of my WRs, that won the Heisman, helped. 53 catches for almost 1500 yards and 18 TDs by himself. I used three different Rbs and 2 different FBs, just alternated them in and out in the formation subs thing.

Currently 5-1 in year 3 after going 11-2 and 12-1 in the first two years, winning the Sugar Bowl both seasons. Playing the offense for both teams sort of evens things out, I just lost to Rutgers (who is 5-1 at least) 38-35, lol.

Finished that 3rd season up at 10-3 with a 45-38 loss to Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl.

Started and finished the first game of the next season by beating VT 42-28. I'd planned on playing VT already before I played'em in the Orange Bowl. Just as the coaches shook hands and whatnot after the game, it froze. Lost. Gone. That was about a perfect game, too, 260+ yards rushing AND passing.
