You think this is the low point? Not even close...don’t read if you like positive thoughts

If the highlighted statements are accurate (and believe me, I hope they are), then what about the defiant and arrogant attitude taken by the LSU and Kansas basketball programs? They have basically told the NCAA to shove it and the NCAA has done absolutely nothing to either program. I mean, LSU coach Will Wade is on wiretap admitting guilt, and still nothing from the NCAA.

Those schools want to keep their coach, we didn’t. We saw a way to avoid paying out his contract.

Wait for about 3-4 years from now when we have no roster.

you think Ole Miss was terrible on D because of schematics? They couldn’t recruit defensive talent from 2017 on. They literally had no LBs. Hard to recruit with bowl band and scholly reductions......and even more so when the NCAA has its eye on you.

This program is dead and it’s only going to get worse.

I miss the days when new members couldn't post for months.

Yet, Ole Miss would have pounded our eyes shut this year. Without a doubt.

I'm just thankful that you have no idea what is actually going to happen with the NCAA. Right now perception is all we are dealing with. If the recent outcomes with UNC and LSU are any indication the consequences will be far less damaging than many want to believe.
Ole Miss went with “exemplary cooperation” too...but that was mostly about getting Freeze from an NCAA persoective

I'm almost giddy with excitement. I have high hopes for Plowman and Boyd now they have exorcised the stench of Fulmer from the administration. Only direction we have to go is up and I see us rising quickly (if they get the hire right).

I think it hinges on the AD hire

8 losing seasons over the past 13.

Coming off the worst record in our lifetime.

6 maybe 7 coaches over the past 13 years or so.

But NOW.......things will get bad?

This game are bad......things have been bad, we know this and obviously we can handle it.

Make a good AD & coach hire......things WILL improve for Tennessee.

Also, aren't the NCAA investigations of both schools ongoing? I could be wrong about that.

I think so. Maybe with us (like UF) doing the dirty work for the NCAA and not fighting them they'll go with whatever self imposed penalties we recommend. In normal circumstances firing your coach is a pretty big self imposed penalty by itself.

Honestly, and I know many don't want to hear this, but historically we ARE an 8, 9, and sometimes 10 or more win program. We are not Alabama. Look it up. Taking away the anomalies of the wildly successful 90's and the horrible last 12 years, we probably average somewhere around 8.5-9 wins per year. We probably average an SEC championship somewhere around every 5 years. And we probably average a Natty around once every 10-15 years (or more). That's who we are as a program. We are not the perennial powerhouse that so many believe we are. I'm not saying we stop striving for that. I'm just saying history is not on our side in that regard.

Incorrect. From Neyland onward we were a dominant program even before the 1990s. I'm always baffled that our own fan base have no idea just how many games we've won over the years and how great the program has been. The last decade and a half has warped the perception of our own fans and it's sad.

Dead sounds bad, not sure what could be worse.
