You're not wrong but there is some bias against UT right now and UF had some splash on them.
People who thought UT was overhyped won't let go of ASU and Ohio. People who hyped UT are afraid to risk embarrassment. UT has burned those who predicted bigger things for them in the previous two years too
UT probably has to beat Uga then one of the next two before this completely goes away.
You beat UF as the favorite, at home, and so the simple fact that you won should not have been treated as any sort of surprise.
Where I think the voters are not giving you enough credit is the way you won. You were down 21-3 at half and looked like you were headed for a sure loss, and came out and quickly erased that deficit and pulled away.
And as much as it will hurt you to admit it, Florida is not bad, especially defensively. So imo you ought to be more in the 7-10 area in the polls right now.
P.S. This is not a trap.
If we beat Georgia and find a win in College Station I doubt that we will have enough in the tank to beat Alabama. Two road games one at arguably the loudest stadium in all of college football and then return home to face the #1 team. It doesent look good but The Vols will be ready.
I don't think there should even be polls until 4-5 games have been played. If we take care of business Saturday, we'll be top 8, and that's about right.
I disagree. If we beat UGA on the road, we will the get the respect we deserve.
