I admit I dont follow recruiting that closely. Until a name is mentioned here as a legitimate target or commit I don't know anything about them. Even then I don't delve that deep into it. Usually it's just a brief scan of their Rivals profile.
Anyway, what i find hilarious is during the recruiting process many comments on here would lead you to believe these kids are all world. Destined be NFL starters. The sky is falling when they dont chose TN. Then when they don't pan out to the expectations their stars or highlight film created they become the butt of jokes.
Take Jaques Smith for example. During his recruitment people on here were building him up to be the next Reggie White. Now he is criticized for lack of production.
Palardy is the same way. He was the savior of the kicking game as a recruit and when Kiffin bolted people were freaking out that he would flip to a FL school.
I'm not saying the criticism isnt necessarily deserved nor is this meant to be a stars debate. Bluechip players are important to fielding competitive teams even if there is not a guarantee that they will meet those expectations. I just find it amusing (maybe a little sad too) how much some (not all) on here build up these kids then are so quick to turn on them by their sophomore year.
