You gotta love the props for the SEC....

kentucky barely beat a FSU team that was mediocre BEFORE they lost 30 players for the game.

take a look at the number of nfl players ohio state has produced since tressell has been there. very few sec programs can compare.

who else in the sec has that many first day draft pics? tenn. nope. georgia? nope.

So...keeping with the "rip THE OSU" theme of this post...

I made the comment that THE OSU wouldn't go .500 in this league...I have to admit, upon further review, that may have been a little too zealous on my part...

So just for S&G's...let's give THE OSU the same scheduele as USCe this year...that way they have to face the best teams in the East and some of the good teams form the West...

Here it is and my predictions:

Louisiana-Lafayette W
Georgia L
South Carolina State W
at LSU L
Mississippi State W
Kentucky L
North Carolina W
Vanderbilt W
Tennessee L
Arkansas W
Florida L
Clemson W

In this case I would predict 7-5 with an appearance in the Motor City Bowl or something equivilant to that

Alright Droski....THE OSU has talent, they are the class of the Big 11...

Why then have they been embarassed 2 years in a row by an SEC team...

Not trying to be a smarta**...I seriously want to know what you think

That game wasn't as close as the final score; FSU scored with about two minutes left to make it look close. Kentucky dominated the second half. And in any case, they also beat the national champions and it took the East champs four overtimes to take them down. I'm sure you saw UK play this year. Put them in this year's Little 10 and they're probably in the Rose Bowl.

And when it comes to winning anything on the field, that and a box of Cracker Jacks will win you a prize.

And that is the sole indicator of how strong a college team is?

Riiiight.

Just like the heisman automatically means you are going to be a stud in the NFL.

OSU doesn’t have the talent of LSU, UF, UGA, UT (2008), Aub.

last year they choked and had a horrible game plan. this year they just weren't as good and made a lot of stupid mistakes.

it's not the sole indicator, but it is an indicator that OSU isn't slow with a lack of talent which is what the sec folks like to say.

Last year they came the the NCAA Championship game with a pee wee team.

Most people don't make the same mistake twice though.

Then why can they never beat the SEC? Is it only coaching?

So the OSU campaign to be in the 2009 NC has already begun.

This is ruining college football. The Big 10 champ should be disqualified for a few seasons--whatever record they have.

I'd like to see the SEC Champs play the Pac 10 Champs for the NC next year. Other conferences outside the Big 10 deserve a chance to play against the champions of the best conference in football.

The SEC CG is a better game than is the NC with the current 'Big 10 gets a bye' system.

ohio state has better talent than every team in the sec except LSU and Florida. they are just young.

Please explain this statement. Sure, OSU puts players in the NFL because they look good against crappy teams. Troy Smith was the Heisman winner last year until Florida took it away (theoretically), as well as his draft ranking. You can't base this statement on recruiting. You can't base it on how OSU does against SEC teams compared to other SEC teams. I think this was just a blind statement that carries no validity.

they are 7-11 all time against the sec the problem has been bowl games. bad coaching was the problem before tressell certainly. what's tressell's record against the sec? anyone know? do people forget that tressell beat a miami team that had SEC style speed and talent?

are you being sarcastic? you think OSU puts players in the NFL because they play poor competition?

So 63% of the time they win against an SEC foe. I don't like those odds.

What has it been in the last 10 years? 15 years?

At least 0-4 in bowl games.

The total number of NFL players on any given CFB team is less than the number of players needed to play a game.

tOSU's team is a lot like the Big 10 conference. It has some good players (teams) at the top, but the middle and the bottom of the roster (conference) stinks.

The other problem is that 6 of the 7 tOSU wins were before 1935 and came against Vandy and KY.

Over the past 70 years, even Vandy has a better winning pecentage versus SEC teams than does tOSU.

Tennessee has more NFL players in the league right now than any other school.

Where is Cal on that list?

See, doc. Now you're starting to realize. :p
OSU has talent, but to say that the only SEC teams to have more are FL and LSU is false. Personally, I think TN, GA and Auburn all have more talent and maybe even 1 or 2 others.
