I'm not defending Jones or arguing that he has been successful. I'm addressing your comment that you don't want him here "successful or not". I interpret that as saying you would want him gone even if he went on a Saban-like run. That just comes across as blind hatred but maybe I read it wrong. It's early and I haven't had my required allotment of coffee.

If he truly was on a Saban level, I could probably get used to him. But I know he will never come close to that level.

I see what the LSU folks did to Les Miles as a show that they aren't willing to accept mediocrity even for a short period of time. Les was a much better coach and recruiter than Jones. I do not want a coach here that says 8-4 or 9-3 is a good record and be content with that every year. We deserve and must strive for netter.

Some are conditioned to accept mediocrity. Participation trophies for 8th place in little league or a ribbon for finishing the 10 yard dog paddle make it easier to accept. Some are more demanding.

There is no reason for this other than the powers that be will never pay out what an Alabama or Ohio State or even a Florida are willing to pay for a HC and staff. That is not conditioning. Giving 4 years is not a quick fix...

I do considering we barely had a 4-star on the roster when he took over. It takes at least 3 to get any depth and we lost ours this year.

We are not as deep as we need to be and I also have doubts about his long term viability but let's not forget the dumpster fire this program was when he took it and no one else wanted it.

I'm not happy about the USCjt and Candy losses, we should have won those games, but it beats losing to EVERYONE.

Interesting way to rewrite history. We had almost as many 4 stars ,if not as many,as we do now. Dooley sucked as a coach but he recruited just fine. Butch no longer has legacies or promise of playing time to sell and he's having a hard time.

I've been saying this all along! He's done nothing but better our program every year he's been here, except maybe this year, which was equal to last year. And because there wasn't an increase, everyone is freaking out and asking for his head on a platter, when in fact, he is the best coach we have had in the past prob 10 years! AND HE WANTS TO BE HERE, you can see it by his actions & emotions!!!
