This thread makes one thing abundantly clear. If one play in one of the games we lost goes differently, we would be in the bowl picture.
One suggestion about the Saulsberry play might have been a really good one. A fresher D-Line rotation against Florida might have been able to make a couple of plays that kept Murphy from keeping drives alive with his legs. A win against Florida in the swamp might have been a springboard for confidence that put us over the hump and on our way to an eight or nine win season.
If either of the suggested plays against Georgia (3rd and 6 pass by Murray that went for 32 yards or Pig Fumble), goes differently we might have been looking at 7 or 8 wins.
If we change one of the Vandy plays, we get to 6 wins and a bowl.
At the end of the season, I like many others had a sense of disappointment. When you consider that this team started the season with at best 20% of its offensive production from the previous season and the worst defense that most of us have ever seen at Tennessee, it's not unreasonable to be somewhat impressed by just how close the Vols were to a good or really good season. I'm looking forward to signing day and next season, I have a feeling it might be fun to watch.
