Yes. Storm the field if we defeat UGA (Go Vols)

Absolutely ridiculous. We were #6 in 2022. Went to Playoffs last year. We're not a loser.
Ridiculous? Tennessee was #8 in 1997, won the SEC, and lost only 5 straight against Florida and rushed it in 1998. What's the difference then vs doing it now against UGA?

I know this an inherent insult to say, but I live in the here and now.
Heupel is 0-4 against UGA as UTs coach.
Georgia has won 9 straight?? They’ve been the dominant program in all of college football imo the last 10 years.

They have a QB that can run and throw.
They have 2 of the most explosive players that ever suited up for Bishop Gorman and Mater Dei starting. Zach Branch and the RB.
Their line averages 6’6 330 and 3rd year.

Defense…
NB (5 star)
FS (5 star)
NT (5 Star)
ILB (5 star)
and bunch of other talented guys in their two deep. CJ Allen. Chris Cole. A bunch of dudes.

If we beat them then we should absolutely storm the field
You should go ahead and do it. You will be the only one and it will be entertaining to watch you get spear tackled by security.

I hate 'em. They aren't worth me rushing the field. Not that I can afford to be there to do it.

This team they have this year is as talented as their 2022 team.

We have so many injuries that I don’t think we can beat them.

It would take a miracle and yes ABSOLUTELY storm the field.
I'm not sure.

The last few years UGA has usually opened up strong and then struggle for the first month of the season. We are catching them at the right time this year.

The days of storming the field here should have ended after the 2022 Alabama game. If we want to be treated as the fan base of an elite program, then let's act like one.
Yep. If you want to piss off the moronic fanbase of Georgia? You do that by "NOT" storming the field.

I thought doing it after the Bama game last year was corny....

This. 2022, justified. Top 5 Bama team, epic game, 15 year losing streak. Not the biggest fan of storming the field, but that one was understandable.

2024 was stupid and cringe. Doing it after that game, you’re basically saying Tennessee never expects to beat even a middling Bama team that lost to Vandy and we should destroy our own field every time it happens.

7-19 vs them since our last title. Kids today know nothing, nor care about, anything but that. 4-14 in the lifetime of incoming freshman.
And yet they only lead the all time series by 5 wins. We’re established now. I don’t want to give them the satisfaction.

It's 6, but ok. 17 of the 23 Tennessee wins were before Y2K. I hate UGA, but I'm not naive enough to act like Tennessee has been on the same level as them for 25 years.

Did Ohio State rush the field after beating #1 Texas last week?
Did Tennessee win the national title the year before? Or lose 6 straight to them? Or lose 14 of the 18 that incoming freshmen have been alive for? Not even in the same stratosphere of a comparison.

nah, don’t storm it. I get that it feels like it’s been an eternity since we last beat ‘em-but we used to own that program, and they still despise us for it. Don’t give them the satisfaction of storming the field. **** them.

We are Tennessee. We're not a program like Arkansas. We should only storm the field for games like Bama in 22. Fans storming the field after every ranked win has made field storming in general feel corny these days, and I’d rather we not be a part of it. We are better than that.

This is kind of where I'm at. Field storming across college football happens too often, it doesn't feel organic which is what made 22 so special.

But if the kids storm the field, so be it. I'll keep my old ass in the stands with the other elder Millennials and watch the spectacle.

You hit it squarely on the head here - storming the field needs to be done in the context of the moment.
I mean in 2022 you could feel something special was happening, even through the television and radio broadcast...like you said, truly organic.

That said, I think there should be criteria for when to storm the field:
- Is it a regular rival, or foe, that you have been losing to consistently in the last decade or more (for UGA, yes)
- Has the game been well played and close in the 4th quarter (if we are up by 2 scores and laying the wood to them in the 4th, then let's be classy and not storm)
- Do we win on a last second TD or FG (see bullet 2 above)
- Is the atmosphere in the stadium such that storming is warranted (see organic and the previous points)

Hit those marks and yes, by all means, storm the field, have a good time, enjoy, celebrate, help Danny White pay the fine later.
Otherwise, let's be classy and show some respect as well good sportsmanship and celebrate the win elsewhere.

Definitely not. It’s costly to the school/athletics and it makes the fan base look like a bunch of nimrods. By all means celebrate, but don’t destroy things in the process. Show some character.
