Yemi granted release. (order of protection taken 4/22)

Yemi and washpun showed more potential than half of Martins recruits.

Washpun? Hahaha.

Ok, since you wanna make the comment, back it up...Martin has signed how many recruits since he got to Tennessee (we haven't seen the 2013 class play so can't count them)? 9.

So by your statement, Washpun showed more potential than 4 1/2 of Martin's recruits, name them, ready.....GO!

Washpun had great athleticism and yemi had size. Martin has recruited guys with absolutely 0 distinguishing characteristics.

Usain Bolt has great athleticism, doesn't mean he would make a good basketball player.

And wait let me get this right, you're gonna pump up Yemi because he had size, yet bash Ndiaye, because he has MORE size than Yemi? Ok got it, you've clearly got an agenda.

And you still.......haven't answered my question?

Isn't he naming their distinguishing qualities and them saying Martin doesn't recruit guys with just that???

Seems like a very contradictory statement

Yemi isn't very good hell never be any good. Ndiaye isn't any good. No one thinks ndiaye is any good. I doubt Martin thinks ndiaye is any good. It's another shot in the dark because really how much worse than yemi could he be. The reason martin signs these type of players is because martin is a disastrous recruiter.

Wes washpun had decent upside. definitely would have been better to have him this year than a couple of the talentless forwards he has signed recently.

What the heck would Washpun have contributed this year? Another late game technical?

He could have added depth. He could have at least been molded into an excellent defender and a good transition finisher.

Lopez>Washpun
I understand you're trying to make a point right now, but I disagree. Lopez isn't very fast or athletic, his ball handling is alright and shows no real offensive game (for d1 ball atleast). Lopez's defense is about is good as Skylar McBee's - a lot of hussle. Wes Washpun was fast, athletic and showed he had offensive game. Washpun's defensive game was slow. All in all, I think washpun is the clear better choice.

As for Yemi, maybe he wanted to transfer and find better player opportunities. I couldn't see him getting forced out by our staff. If we knew he wanted to transfer it makes since to get a JUCO big with some experience.

Wes Washpun showed he had offensive game.

Huh? Offensive game? Are we thinking of the same guy? Highest point total last year was 3 points!!! Shot 28% from the field, 50% from the line, and 0% from 3...if that's offensive game then skylar Mcbee is the next pistol Pete.

Offensive potential* He averaged 18 points per game in high school and barely got any playing time as a PG at TN, I feel like he was just in a bad environment for his character.

Wait, what? Did we watch the same Wes Washpun? He was small and fast, but what offensive game? I had high hopes, but I don't how much he would have really contributed.

My only true criticism with recruiting is the wrong decision to find a true PG and taking Edwards. Would have liked to take Fabyon Harris, and I don't know why they took a JUCO Edwards when we didn't need that position. Everyone else was fine, including Dwight Miller because we just needed bodies, and he was just a two year guy.

Most likely scored with his athleticism. At the college and pro levels, guards have to make outside shots and not just rely on athleticism. Mike Conley is a perfect example. He was a poor outside shooter when drafted but used his athleticism in college. I was afraid he might be a bad pick. But he has worked hard and now shoots really well and has become a very good NBA PG.

Haha. Where have you been BasketvolsFan? I don't see you post much anymore. Are you excited about 2013-14?

Just don't have enough time anymore. Yes, if Stokes returns, I think next year can be a very good year. With the incoming talent and the talent returning, there is no reason why we can't contend for the SEC regular season championship. Notice, I didn't include the SEC tournament as we never play well there regardless of talent or regular season success.

Oh ok. Yeah I agree on all points.
