Yeah, this deal going on makes Microsoft seem super desperate.
The funny thing about it kwebb is that the Xbone isn't doing terrible. It's just that by comparison, the PS4 is selling at a ridiculous, record-setting pace so it just seems like the Xbone is struggling. I read somewhere that the Xbone is selling something like 400% over what the 360 was selling at this time in it's lifespan. It's clear that Phil Spencer and MS are in this to win it and they're doing everything they can to try and make the X1 look as attractive as possible. Having both systems, there are definitely things about both that I like. I just wish that MS would invest more into it's in-house development infrastructure instead of money hatting timed exclusivity deals and deceptive marketing tactics.
I think Wii U will see a huge jump once SSB4 releases. I know I'm buying one for that and Mario Kart. They've also got some cool games coming out next year, like Star Fox and I believe a Pokemon game.
I don't know that Nintendo is really trying to take much of the business in the mainstream gaming market. They've carved themselves a nice little niche, and I don't think that it's threatened

These updates keep getting better and better.
The funny thing is, I love my Xbox One for everything NON gaming-related. I love how I can use it to control my entire entertainment center. I love the TV navigation. I love the NFL and EPSN apps. I loved the Banaroo app. I just NEVER use it for gaming. I have bought exactly one game since I got the system, Forza 5which I hardly play anymore because it got boring with it's lack of modes. It came with Titanfall which I played for about 3 weeks and then got bored with it. Right now the only exclusive that's even on my radar for the rest of this year is The Halo Masterchief collection. Beyond that, I'm interested in Quantum Break next year but I'm just not seeing a whole lot of exclusive titles that interest me.

My same sentiments. The PS4 blows it away with multiplats. But UI/software-wise, the X1 wins hands down. However, gaming is far more important to me than a glorified media player.
