Xbox One

The retail on that BB club is $119 for 2 years but let's be real here...its on sale for half price every other week it seems.

Microsoft seems about as desperate as Nintendo right now. These deals they are having remind me a lot of the deals Nintendo has been having to try and sell the Wii U.

It's funny, the video game media keeps talking about how terrible the Wii U is doing (which it is doing pretty badly) but it's still sold over a million more units than the Xbox One. The Wii U did get a year head start and I do believe it will overtake the Wii U in 2015, but it's still humorous a bit.

Yeah, this deal going on makes Microsoft seem super desperate.

The funny thing about it kwebb is that the Xbone isn't doing terrible. It's just that by comparison, the PS4 is selling at a ridiculous, record-setting pace so it just seems like the Xbone is struggling. I read somewhere that the Xbone is selling something like 400% over what the 360 was selling at this time in it's lifespan. It's clear that Phil Spencer and MS are in this to win it and they're doing everything they can to try and make the X1 look as attractive as possible. Having both systems, there are definitely things about both that I like. I just wish that MS would invest more into it's in-house development infrastructure instead of money hatting timed exclusivity deals and deceptive marketing tactics.

I have both also and I love the xbox one. I definitely agree with that last sentence.

I think Wii U will see a huge jump once SSB4 releases. I know I'm buying one for that and Mario Kart. They've also got some cool games coming out next year, like Star Fox and I believe a Pokemon game.

Eh I think there will be a bump but I don't think it will be huge. They were saying the same thing about Mario Kart 8 and it really didn't happen.

The Wii U has been out for almost 2 years now and it's selling worse than the GameCube did, and about the same as the Dreamcast was. I think Nintendo rested too much on their success with the Wii and thought it would happen again, but didn't realize the majority of buyers of the Wii were very casual gamers who have moved on.

I don't know that Nintendo is really trying to take much of the business in the mainstream gaming market. They've carved themselves a nice little niche, and I don't think that it's threatened

Oh it's a problem. There's a lot of division within Nintendo's board of trustees. Several want President Iwata fired.

I wouldn't say nice. They lost half a billion last year and the president's head is on the chopping block. Nintendo is struggling right now. The 3DS is the only thing that does even remotely well, and it rarely hits sales expectations. Not saying they are doomed to fail right now, but it's not roses in the Mario Factory.

These updates keep getting better and better.

The funny thing is, I love my Xbox One for everything NON gaming-related. I love how I can use it to control my entire entertainment center. I love the TV navigation. I love the NFL and EPSN apps. I loved the Banaroo app. I just NEVER use it for gaming. I have bought exactly one game since I got the system, Forza 5which I hardly play anymore because it got boring with it's lack of modes. It came with Titanfall which I played for about 3 weeks and then got bored with it. Right now the only exclusive that's even on my radar for the rest of this year is The Halo Masterchief collection. Beyond that, I'm interested in Quantum Break next year but I'm just not seeing a whole lot of exclusive titles that interest me.

I agree with the Non gamingstuff. I bought Madden and pre-ordered FIFA for xbox one since those are games that I really don't play online much.

My same sentiments. The PS4 blows it away with multiplats. But UI/software-wise, the X1 wins hands down. However, gaming is far more important to me than a glorified media player.

The thing is, Sony can always upgrade/improve their UI. However the Xbox One architecture is what it is. There's nothing MS can do to change it.

I basically use my Xbone for all my multimedia needs (TV, Blu Ray, Netflix, NFL, ESPN, Amazon Prime, You Tube, etc). I use my PS4 for all my gaming needs.
