I have to say, I have the one and I am just not too impressed. Played the racing game, zombie game, madden, and NBA2K and I guess I might have just out grown it. I need a mindless game like GTA or something. With kids and jobs it is hard for me to dedicate much time to games like the ones that have been released. I need a mind numbing tiger woods, GTA, or something of the likes.
This is me. With work, school, a kid, and another kid on the way I don't have much time to invest into games like I used too. I mostly play 2K14 and that's it.I have to say, I have the one and I am just not too impressed. Played the racing game, zombie game, madden, and NBA2K and I guess I might have just out grown it. I have to say, I'm already liking Phil Spencer as the head of Xbox division. Much like we always say about Butch Jones, it seems that Phil "gets it" in terms of where their focus really needs to be, which is games! Games are what ultimately drives console sales. I'm also glad to hear him acknowledge that the whole DRM and always online requirement was a mistake from the beginning. Unlike before where MS would only acknowledge that the original plan was a sound idea, they just poorly communicated it to consumers. Phil comes right out and says it wasn't a good idea to begin with! With Phil in charge, he's made me interested in the Xbox again. He's certainly saying all the right things, we just have to wait and see if he puts his money where his mouth is. I'm not ready to buy one just yet but I will be paying close attention to E3 this year to see what MS has to show.

Well it's official! I am now a multi-console owner! I took advantage of Target's deal which was the Titanfall bundle plus 13 months of Live for 449.99. Considering the value that comes with the bundle I essentially paid 330.00 for the system. I also picked up a copy of Forza 5. I haven't had a chance yet to even hook the system up and probably won't get to until sometime tomorrow. When I finally do and spend some real time with it I'll post my impressions of the system plus my comparisons to my PS4.

Wow! The PS4 guy got an Xbox. Lol. Hope you enjoy it!
Well, primarily I blame Sony for not having a marquee racing title available LOL! I really wanted a racing game and Forza 5 just looks too damn fun! But more than that, I'm sick of feeling like I have to choose sides and deprive myself of some great games. Being platform agnostic really takes that pressure off. Plus finally it looks like the Xbox division has the leadership it needs to steer the department in the right direction and is putting their primary focus where it needs to be, which is games! I hope I don't regret my decision!
That is why I bought the One, so I don't have to miss out on exclusives that I want to play. Also, I really enjoy Forza and Titanfall.
Also, my few gripes: I really don't enjoy the interface and why the hell do you have to buy a headset adapter to get chat to work!?!?!? That is so annoying, just another 25 bucks they want to get out of us.

Question, with the X1's interface being so similar to Windows 8's, can you arrange the tiles around the way you want them like you can in Windows?
OK I have to confess, I have never laughed so hard while unboxing a new console like I have with the Xbox One! '
First of all, this system is definitely the "'merican" console! It's an absolute behemoth and it weighs a metric ton! Everything about it is freaking huge compared to the PS4. From the enormous Kinect camera to the huge power brick to the thick cables! Comparing it to the PS4, if I were to use a car analogy I would say the PS4 is a sleek, high performance, aerodynamic, fuel efficient, fast machine. The Xbox by contrast is a boxy, heavy, loud (in terms of size and design), gas guzzling Amercian heavy metal muscle car LOL!
I have everything hooked up and downloading updates. More to follow.
It comes with a headset, albeit not a very good one.
Update: Controller impressions/comparisons to DS4
The X1 controller feels a little heavier than the DS4 but it's more compact. The footprint on the DS4 is slightly wider than it is on the X1.
The triggers on the X1 controller are snappier, more responsive where as the DS4 triggers are "mushier." However the DS4 triggers have a wider range of motion than the X1's. The X1's trigger motion is more limited.
The X1 d pad is definitely an improvement from the 360 but...my ass would have been an improvement. That's not saying much. It's clicky and responsive to be sure. However I still prefer the DS4 d pad and think it's still the unrivaled standard.
The shoulder buttons are where the X1 controller really takes a step back from the 360 controller. They're just positioned awkwardly for my hands. The 360 controller was shaped to where my index fingers rested somewhere in between the triggers and the shoulder buttons, giving an equal amount of range to operate either set. However the X1 controller is shaped to where my index fingers more naturally go straight to the triggers and it takes a bit more work operating the shoulder buttons. I managed to be able to rest my fingers on the triggers and sort of "roll" my fingers back to click the shoulder buttons. However that doesn't exactly feel natural to do. The X1 shoulder buttons are also very clicky like the D pad, reminiscent of the feel of mouse buttons, if that makes sense.
I'll have to spend more time with the X1 controller in real game situations but as far as first impressions go, while the X1 controller is good, I believe the DS4 controller is superior in almost every way. It feels more comfortable in my hands, its a more innovative design with the glide pad, built in speaker, and light bar. Plus the whole symmetrical/asymmetrical analogue stick argument is completely moot IMO. Both positions feel completely natural and comfortable to me. I don't see a real advantage with one over the other.
Now that I own both systems, in terms of sheer console and controller design, I have to give advantage PS4.
I'll update again with camera comparisons at some point.
Yeah I know. I have a turtle beach headset that works perfect with the PS4. The PS4 came with a cable that connects the headset to the controller for free. Just pisses me off that microsoft is charging 25 bucks to get your headset to be able to chat.
