I've enjoyed it so far, but the lack of launch content is a bit disappointing. Wouldn't bother me so much if I didn't think a lot of it was already done but will just be sold as dlc. Less tracks and a lot less cars than Forza 4, but there will be new dlc you can buy every month.
And from the reviews it makes it sound like you have to do a bunch of grinding to get to any good cars. Don't get me wrong. I don't mind playing and earning what I do get. One of the things I didn't like about Forza 4 was they just gave me a car every time I leveled up. Much of the time it wasn't cars I wanted. And the cars were already maxed out for their racing class. Part of the fun for me was buying a car mostly bare and improving it myself over time. But from many of the reviews I've read the past few days it sounds like the amount of races you have to do will become stale on the same tracks using the same few cars.
It feels like, well not nickel and diming cause that's cheap, they're trying to squeeze as much money as possible out of you. Don't want to go through the grind we're forcing you do to level up? You can just buy your way through it. Don't want to spend forever to work your way up to be able to afford top notch cars? You can just buy tokens to get whatever you want.
Couple that with the dlc and it sounds like you're going to have to spend way more than the initial cost to be able to really enjoy everything the game has to offer. Something I'm likely not going to do.
