Xbox One

The Drivatar brings a new element into the game that I really like. It basically feels like you are playing against real players through out your career. That is a lot better than the stock AI that was in previous versions.

So far my impression of drivatar is they drive like gorillas. All they do is ram me from sides and back. I was going to try to play with simulation damage instead of cosmetic, but it trashed my car.

Try simulation damage against Smokey, you'll last three turns.

Forza was/is great, but there's only so much you can do online without a legit driving setup with a shifter.

I wish I had gotten Forza 5 off amazon instead of buying at Best Buy. I had a 5 dollar off member reward.

Amazon still selling day 1 edition that gives you a few more cars. And for only 49 bucks too. I screwed that up.

Amazon.com: forza 5: Video Games

Check your email, I got random emails, from XBox, on two car codes two week before the the xbox came out.

Forza 5 is awesome. I played it for 2 days straight when I got my Xbox last friday..got motion sickness :/

I've enjoyed it so far, but the lack of launch content is a bit disappointing. Wouldn't bother me so much if I didn't think a lot of it was already done but will just be sold as dlc. Less tracks and a lot less cars than Forza 4, but there will be new dlc you can buy every month.

And from the reviews it makes it sound like you have to do a bunch of grinding to get to any good cars. Don't get me wrong. I don't mind playing and earning what I do get. One of the things I didn't like about Forza 4 was they just gave me a car every time I leveled up. Much of the time it wasn't cars I wanted. And the cars were already maxed out for their racing class. Part of the fun for me was buying a car mostly bare and improving it myself over time. But from many of the reviews I've read the past few days it sounds like the amount of races you have to do will become stale on the same tracks using the same few cars.

It feels like, well not nickel and diming cause that's cheap, they're trying to squeeze as much money as possible out of you. Don't want to go through the grind we're forcing you do to level up? You can just buy your way through it. Don't want to spend forever to work your way up to be able to afford top notch cars? You can just buy tokens to get whatever you want.

Couple that with the dlc and it sounds like you're going to have to spend way more than the initial cost to be able to really enjoy everything the game has to offer. Something I'm likely not going to do.

So yea, I'm one of the people that got a $hit disc drive in my xbox one.

Yesterday it started to not read the game discs. Today I get that and the grindy/rub noise when I insert a disc.

I'm sick of this buggy crap.

I've luckily had no trouble with mine. I love it

When I made it past day 2 I thought I was in the clear.

Yesterday it hiccuped a couple times reading my games. I just thought it's a bug, ms will patch it later.

Today there was nothing. Won't read either disc and it's grinding or rubbing.

Getting an "advanced replacement" I think it's called. Called support and they're sending me a new one. When that arrives I ship them my non functioning xb1.

Sucks man. They're proactive anyway.

Anyone know if at somne point I'm going to be able to use my old beaches for the xbone? Chat sucks without them

Have you tried them

You can't. The chat cable/bluetooth adapter doesn't even fit in the plug on the new controller. You can still get sound through the TB's, but you have to play without a mic.

To answer the original question, word a few months back was that there are plans to release an adapter sometime in the first part of next year.

If that's not good enough for you, there's always the DIY option like this guy used.

I could go pick up an Xbox One at Best Buy right now, as they have them in stock. I keep getting to the check out of their website to place the order, but I just can't do it.

My son unwrapped his Xbox One today. He started it up and it did a software update but other than that no issues so far. Headphone and controller are working great. No disc loading issues or anything. Synced right into our existing account. It is pretty awesome.

My son has had an issue recently with the "nat type" error. Does anyone know what that is? He can play the games on the unit but has this problem with the live connection on Xbox one. No problem with 360.
