Xbox issue (Wont play any disk/open tray)

I'm buying a new one, not sure if I just want to sell this one as is or for parts or fix it up.
I would need a Hitachi disc drive which I can get for 26 bucks online. I'm assuming that would fix the issue, would I need to flash the drive though? I was assuming I wouldn't since I'm getting the same drive as I originally had.

All drives have different keys. I have never done one but heard it sucked let me ask my guy.

no xbox malfunctions can compare to the utter failure sony went through with their network. It was embarrassing and unacceptable.

This thread has nothing to do with the PS3....gtho. You tards are the only ones that have brought it up. My PS3 is good for about two things. The Show and Blue Ray...thats about it. Now if you dont mind, create a PS3 vs Xbox thread so all of you fanboys (PS and Xbox) can have your own personal pissing match about a question that will never be resolved.

always had PS over XBOX until the PSN crashed. now after a few months of having the 360 I can honestly say that xbox is the better gaming system. PS is the better entertainment system. the 360's controller is molded to fit your hands. the PS controller seems like it is for young kids. there are other advantages as well, but i have to go to a meeting
