I thought they wasted the abduction angle with Joe by bring him back on that makeshift "Team Hogan" squad last night. And, in doing so, he overshadowed the little push they were giving Rob Terry.

They do a lot of things over there that leave me scratching my head.

Last night I watched most of both. Impact was a better show.
It should be. Angle, Anderson, Beer Money, and Wolfe all are now better than anyone drawing a WWE check. The years of carrying Vince's dying product has finally ground HHH down to the point he's just another guy out there. John Cena and Jack Swagger are the standard bearers. That's all anyone needs to know about the direction they are headed.

I'd rather watch 1998. At least it isn't a bunch of this new thing that WWE has(well, not really all that new) about catering to a younger crowd.

i'd rather be waterboarded.

TNA's really not that bad. At least the talent is there.

The creative needs some improvement and direction, and Hogan & Bischoff need fewer segments, but there's potential for something very entertaining there.

you've been saying this for over a year now, at least.

Hogan and Bischoff were a step backwards.

The product hasn't regressed.

Angle, Wolfe, Anderson, Beer Money, Styles, Hall & Nash make up a nucleus as talented as anything in WWE right now.

The creative team needs to get its ish together, but the roster's every bit as good as WWE's.

I don't mind the PG nature of the WWE. I don't need to see lots of blood, chairshots, and T&A (no pun intended) in wrestling.

My only problem with the PG nature of the WWE stems from the fact that you can't even have guys saying "ass" anymore (see watered down SCSA) and you have a kiddified face of the company like John Cena. He's basically nothing more than the Ultimate Warrior with a little more talent.

Of course the whole guest host thing and skits that litter RAW are problems all their own, and my main beef. WWE needs to have good storylines, in and out of the ring. They have good stories in the ring, at least on Smackdown (the best wrasslin show on TV), but nothing really outside that.

TNA on the other hand...I thought it was better a few years ago, during the Christian Cage era, when they were having good matches all the time. What we've got now is nothing more than WCW v2.0, and not even the good WCW at that.

Just posting all that, it makes me ask myself why I even bother watching either anymore. I guess I keep hoping that one of them is gonna get better.

TNA was on its way from establishing its identity until Hogan and Bischoff came around. Now you are seeing original performers like Christopher Daniels and Awesome Kong leave because they just don't agree with the new regime. That is not a good sign and you are now seeing rethreads running the show. Sting and Angle are GREAT people to build your youth around but now it's all about Hogan and who he brought in. TNA was fine as it is before and now it is WCW 2.0 without the big arenas and financial pull. Their lineup is so messed up and have someone like RVD to have the belt? They should have went ahead and gave it to Anderson while they had the chance.

Those hoping for the 1998 product, 8 PM (7PM) hour is considered as the family hour and if they are going towards TV-14, there will be significant backlash for that. The WWE enjoyed that period but they suffered on an advertiser's standpoint and had the PTC all over them. So what we are seeing now is the direct result of the backlash, and have it back to the family feel that was there during its run in the 80's to early 90's before WCW got big.

Key to the future of the WWE, the NXT program and the FCW talent.

Based on the path TNA is going, I would not be surprised if they go after Dave Batista since his contract is up this Summer.

It is. Its not pulling the ratings Sy Fy wanted, but honestly what is? Except maybe Caprica. Sy Fy is pretty lame. I like NXT (better than RAW) but that's a bad time slot on a bad channel.

See that's the way I felt about it. I always thought they had the talent, at least in the ring. Maybe they lacked guys that had personality like some WWE guys. But I think they have some of that now.

A lot of that boils down to writing too. The Rock had a natural charisma and delivery, but he had a writer doing most of his lines and catch phrases.

If they could bring in Jim Ross as an announcer/creative (and maybe even Heyman), and dump trash like Russo, Hogan, Flair, and Bischoff, then I think that would be a huge step for them. Heck, go after the WWE guy that does their video packages too!

Or Dinero?

The Pope would've been good.

Somebody like Abyss would've been bad. I can't understand why they have Hogan promoting that Mankind wannabe.

How has the loss of Awesome Kong hurt TNA?

Didn't TNA originally want their women to actually wrestle? I could be wrong, but if that's the case then it hurts because she was by far their best womens wrestler.

Well, if ratings take a dive and they need a replacement, I'm sure they can find one at any Ryan's in America.

Glad to see a bunch of TNA references in here. My dad makes their merchandise so it's basically paying for me to go to UT
